This may be one of Joe Biden's best speeches. He, like many, deserves credit and consideration for overcoming a horrible personal tragedy.

BUT...there's another side to the story.

I believe it's a mistake to support and elect politicians based on sympathy.

This applies not just to BIden, but also the Kennedy's, and even Hillary Clinton. This applies to Democrats and Republicans. John McCain is a war hero, surviving years of brutal torture at the hands of the North Vietnamese. He deserves respect and gratitude. But I do not think his grueling POW experience necessarily helps qualify him for high public office.

Character and upholding the Constitution are important qualifications.

When Joe Biden's previous wife and daughter were tragically killed in an auto accident, the police report stated that Mrs. Biden failed to stop and her vehicle was hit by a truck.

Biden remarked that the truck driver drank his lunch. There was no evidence of alcohol involvement in the crash.

Biden's flirtation with plagiarism should by now be well known.

Joe Biden helped "Bork" one of the most qualified and brilliant men to be nominated to the Supreme Court.

When Joe Biden was asked if he was being considered for Vice President, he stated "No, I'm not the guy." He could have said something like "No comment" or "I'd prefer not to say."

Prior to that he said "I am not running for vice president, I would not accept it if anyone offered it to me."

There are credible claims that he failed to tell the truth 14 times in his debate with Sarah Palin.

Joe Biden said that the "surge" in Iraq wouldn't work.

Joe Biden said that the national missile shield wouldn't work. He voted against it.

Joe Biden calls himself a Catholic but has a staunchly pro-abortion record.
His enthusiastic support for "gay marriage" is also at odds with Catholic teaching.

Some have called Joe Biden one of the dumbest Vice Presidents ever.

His enthusiastic support for Statism, including the failed policies of the Obama administration, along with his endless gaffes, put him in the running.

P.S. Joe Biden's son, Beau, is now Delaware's Attorney General. He flunked his bar exam several times. I consider his performance poor. His office did not even acknowledge several of my letters and messages left at the AG web site.

Dumbed-down Democrat dysfunctional Delaware is definitely Biden country.

"Mr. Biden may suffer from logorrhea, which Merriam-Webster defines as "pathologically excessive and often incoherent talkativeness or wordiness that is characteristic especially of the manic phase of bipolar disorder." So what the White House calls "Joe Bombs" will keep on coming, a prospect which must chill Team Obama."

Amusing article. Another quote: "So it may be prudent for Mr. Obama to stick with Mr. Biden. One benefit is that as long as Slow Joe is out there saying stupid things, people will take less notice of the stupid things the president says," wrote Jonah Goldberg in National Review.

jockfever: [Beau Biden's] office did not even acknowledge several of my letters and messages left at the AG web site.

    notadumbjock: hmmmm, wonder why?

    jockfever: Funny...or is it?

Delaware is a stupid, corrupt one-party state.

The Delaware State Attorney General still has a duty to obey his oath of office, uphold the law, and protect the rights of all citizens, not just his political buddies.

Acknowledging serious, thoughtful, courteous letters and messages, which mine were, is just basic courtesy.

Delaware is a small state. One would think that state government would be responsive. Just the opposite is the case, unless you're a member of a favored group. Delaware Democrats in high offices are arrogant and unresponsive because they know they can get away with it.

A fish rots from the head. The longer arrogant corruption is tolerated, the more it spreads, e.g., to judges and the police. That's soft tyranny. Followers of Statists like Obama and Biden probably don't mind losing their liberty, or anyone else's.

My guess is that your letters are viewed as just rambling insane craziness, the way they are viewed here.

smartmoney: My guess is that your letters are viewed as just rambling insane craziness, the way they are viewed here.

jockfever: I don't write letters here, but when I'm attacked as "stupid" "crazy" and "racist" by stupid, crazy, race-obsessed Libs, it's an unintended compliment.

Since we're into guessing, I'm going to guess that you would also take the side of corrupt Democrat Delaware state government when it let a one-year DUI sentence turn into a death penalty for Daniel Kern, 41, who was gay.

While in custody he developed an infection in his pancreas and complained to prison officials. An infection of the pancreas is sometimes reportedly treatable by antibiotics. The victim eventually died from the infection.

There was no outrage from the gay community, perhaps because it's in the pocket of the corrupt Delaware Democrat establishment.

Don't bother writing any letters to Democrat state officials about this or other evidence of corruption. They'll probably view your comments as "rambling insane craziness."

This and other examples of corruption can be verified at a Delaware Hall of Shame web site.
