i believe very strongly in the power of positive thinking and the way it affects your life for the better. i find i've been sad lately and that this is a downward spiral... so, i wanted to focus on something that makes me happy, and i wanted to share it with you in case you're down and it helps you.

the song is called "enjoy," and it's off janet jackson's 2006 album 20 Y.O.

honestly, it's one of the best songs she's ever made, and it's a real shame it was never released to radio or as a single. it's a very uplifting song. the video is a fan video. the words and tune are what i'm focusing on here.

    so. i hope you enjoy...

i invite you to share something positive on this thread. just anything that makes you happy. perhaps that'd be a nice way to help someone without having to know how or why you've made their day a little brighter.

I had the day off today, so I went to Disneyland. I rode the old rides that I loved as a kid - the steam train, Riverboat, Jungle Boat, Pirates. I walked Main Street and sat on one of the railings and just watched the people walk by. Lunch at the Blue Bayou restaurant - Monte Cristo Sandwiches.

What a great rejuvenating day. Loads of memories of happy family times. We all need to do something like this every now an then.

This usually makes me smile. If I can laugh or at least smile about something it's all good, usually cause my friends think it's stupid. icon_smile.gif

My friend and I were at 7 eleven today,(I hate the place), so she could buy a slurpee. My vengance: I pulled an RB71 and crop dusted the slurpee area and ran off. People came by thinking it was my friend while filling up her cup.

Her sheer embarassment made me cry!icon_lol.gif

"Cho-Ra, Ko-Faa-Ro" - it's a positive energy chant to center your physical well-being including your body, mind, and love life. Sometimes a deep breath and focus on our mind, not our outer world, is all we need. On a more logical note, chanting is connecting to breathing patterns that calm the nerves and blood flow. It's not a bad idea.

Great old song, you are guys are doing just what it says, and hopefully so are we!

I have also been going through a couple hard times....
but its always better to look on the brighter side of things, cuz even when things seem bleak, there is always that sliver of light to look forward to....

Besides that, you gotta laugh, without laughing this world would be such a sad place. I laugh alot, and try to make others laugh, cuz laughter is the best medicine afterall.

This video made me crack up, hopefully itll make you laugh too icon_smile.gif

LOL tricycle monster was great. I love slapstick.

Here's a bunch of young teens being goofy that for some unexplained reason I find hilarious. Warning: sophomoric vomit-related humor inside!

    Hey Jack,

I've been in a rut for about a year as well, so I started using my then-defunct livejournal to post one positive thing about my day, every day. Sometimes, it's hard to find it, but it does make me reflect on my day and it does help me find some small joy (or big ones) that keep me going.

I got the idea after hearing about a guy who took one Polaroid shot a day from 1979 to 1997 (when he died of cancer). I think that would be a really cool thing to do, but I don't carry a camera around and half the stuff I would take pictures of, I'm not really allowed to take pictures of. But I agree, positive thinking is a powerful tool.

I find volunteering to help people that do not have it as good as I do bring me up. Just last night my partner and I volunteered at the food bank. We spent a few hours filling boxes with food for the poor. It just makes you realize how fortunate we are. Sometimes we volunteer to make and serve food to poor and homeless people with AIDS. Today my partner is taking mentally handicapped children to the beach. There are so many things we can do and it is very rewarding. When I really need a pick me up I go in my back yard and play with my six dogs. They are always guaranteed to make us laugh. When I need a push to eat right or exercise I come to you guys, As usual you are always there to give me that extra push.

Jack, I am rootin' for ya... keep your chin up and your feet moving forward!

Something good in my life? My partner, who has been working offshore for the past 18 months is finally coming home to take a job here. Although it has not been the case that I haven't seen him at all during the last year and a half, I have missed him terribly. He's coming home... I am so happy I could cry!
