Evanescence is one of the bands that defined my teen years, and I am seeing them in concert finally next month for the first time ever.

Spread the love. What do you think of the band?

I think Amy Lee is fantastic, possibly one of the best female singers around today.

As for the band I've not really given them any attention since 'Fallen' which I still play these days.

Fallen is a classic. I agree

Their second album "The Open Door" and their current one "Evanescence" need some time for one to get into them, but Amy Lee and her boys never disappoint.

They have some classic gems on there...

I'm a huge fan. I agree that their albums haven't been as good as their first, but they are one of the few bands whose full albums I will buy. Amy Lee has a beautifully haunting voice. The lyrics can often be mournful and sad, but I like that because it's unique compared with most of the music out there today.

They were my first concert ever when I was 12. Otherwise they are alright- not my cup of tea anymore, but I have respect for them.

    Pre-Fallen stuff is amazing.

I LOVE the song "Where Will You Go." It's just really, really good.

Can I make babies with Amy's voice?

Their newest album was such a disappointment in my eyes. Everything Fallen and Pre-Fallen was brilliant, they defined my teenage years. The Open Door and Anywhere But Home had their moments.

I liked their latest album, but it wasn't as good as the previous ones. Are they ever? Still, they're one of the only bands whose full albums I'll buy.

The entire thing killed me except Oceans. I have remixes of New Way to Bleed and Made of Stone that KICK the original songs in the face. Lost in Paradise is maybe the only other song I would say is worthy of something. I watched a video of her just saying the lyrics and I was like, "Y U NO DO THIS INSTEAD!?"

Seriously. Just read me the album instead of over producing it. I'd enjoy that.

There was a point I would die for them, but that was the first concert I saw. July 2004, Target Center, Minneapolis.

The album seem...I dunno...over-produced or something. It seemed like too much of a departure from their earlier ones.

What You Want - OK, for a catchy pop-like song

My Heart Is Broken - Probably my favorite, but I found out it's not a break-up song. It was written about sex slaves. Creepy.

Sick - Another one that I like.

I like the album, but it's not great. At least I can listen to it all the way through, which is a rare thing for me these days. But I don't deny that my music tastes are quirky. I don't expect other people to like what I like.
