Holy crap! Caught the news tonight and recognized the buildings the female anchor was in front of as OUR apartment complex, then they showed the picture of the guy. I've met him several times at the rental office, actually thought he was some sort of hot wrestler guy. Big and very muscular. He had a brooding look, couldn't figure him out.

Well, he's a white supremacist and was just arrested for firearms and threatening the President online! I recorded the story, then immediately went downstairs to make sure, and sure enough the News truck was packing up TWO BUILDINGS OVER!

That truck they show with all the anti-Obama stickers etc. I noticed a few days ago and thought how wacko people are. Thought to myself, JUST like that neighbor in the video, that I'd have to think twice before putting an Obama sticker on my car.

This comes right on the heels of another thread in which some guys on here are overly confident that Obama will win in November. Well, this is Virginia, where he won in 2008. But people have really changed, even in Northern VA where I live. I hardly ever meet an Obama supporter.

I won't put ANY bumper sticker on my car. They lower the resale value.

Even in "liberal" Minnesota, I am afraid to put an obama sticker on my car in fear of being run off the road (we drive worse than Texans sometimes, I think). I see them around, but I see conservative stickers far more.

You meet lots of Obama supporters.
The thing is that Obama supporters today are the Silent Majority.
They don't go around loudly expressing their support for the president.
It's the Obama haters who are loud and angry.
Which is why it's smart this election to be careful about slapping an Obama sticker on your car.
Some angry right-winger could take his rage out on your car.

This dynamic is similar to what the country was like back in the late 1960's - only then it was the militant anti-war left that was angry and there was a Silent Majority of Repubs.

You may see a lot of militant Obama haters and few Obama supporters in VA - but Obama is leading Romney in VA - and in most of the battleground states.
    http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/05/30/1095944/-Obama-continues-to-lead-big-in-battleground-polling

This will be a tough election and overconfidence is foolish - but there's no cause for despair.
Things look better for President Obama at this point than for Romney.

A friend of mine back in Arkansas went to KKK meeting once just to see what it was about (he's the guy who helped me get over my internalized racism that had been engrained in me since childhood).

He said it was just a bunch of rednecks who hate themselves for being rednecks. icon_lol.gif

The guy is actually very attractive in person. Body as huge and built like the pro wrestler, Steve Austin. I mean, this guy is SOLID and TALL. Damn, why people gotta be messed up.

On the other news station his wife said he's like a 15-year-old in a 50 year old body and would never actually carry things out. He's 48. I briefly talked to him about how hot it was a year ago while in the rental office. It's hard to describe his demeanor. Almost like he has a joke he wants to tell mixed in with a curious sexy look and a bit shy. He is intimidating, but in a wrestler sort of way.

Just saw another news team there. I went over just as the rental manager was kicking them off private property. Apparently no news is supposed to enter an apartment community marked as private; they must stay on the outside and zoom in. They were literally surrounding his truck and probably knocking on the door to get his wife.

Saw the picture and was like, "Nooooo, not Goldberg!" icon_surprised.gif

Media can get so overzealous with their coverage at apartments... they pretend they don't know the laws until they're called on it.

If I'm unfortunate enough to be married to a 15-year-old in a 50-year-old gray-haired body (and genuinely intend on having-and-holding for as long as we both shall live) then I'm doing everything in my power to keep him from advertising his shortcomings to the outside world.

And no, Baby Huey here would NEVER actually carry something out with his AK-47... until he does, of course. Then, Mrs. Huey will feign surprise. "But he was such a good boy, er, man! No one could have suspected..."

Doesn't surprise me, unfortunately. The folks at the house next door to our farm fly the Confederate flag....

But there are plenty of some liberal types around, WrestlerVic, even in the exurbs. I've met them, even in Fauquier. But you're right, they're not as visible these days.

We really need to turn it out in Virginia.

His truck, about a football field away from my front door. And yes, he does look like Goldberg in person! In the crime report he is 6'4", 270 lb.
