I tuned into RJ this morning and had an e-mail from my friend Jeff (Swdpxguy), telling me he was tired of the flame wars and was departing RJ for now.

I'm not sure what thread upset him or what happened.
All I can say is that Jeff is the kind of man we need on this site, an educated, grounded, quality guy, with a long term partner and open minded. Always willing to give you his opinion in a friendly way. He isn't too sensitive about things so I'm sure sure what happened.
I just find this sort of thing irritating.

    Sadly, I can't blame him.

It's pretty sad when people fight over the internet. There's been alot of complaining about it here on RJ lately. I come to RJ because unlike Bodybuilding.com's Forums and T-nation.com's forums, I feel a real sense of community over competition. On those two sites, there is community, but more on that hardcore competition make some progress show off your best and boost your ego kind of community - and severe homophobic and adolescent remarks. That's great for athleticism, but not entirely what I'm looking for.

Don't ruin such a gem as RealJock. It's really all we have as a cohesive international community of gay male fitness enthusiasts from all walks of life.

Don't start the flaming - stop it on sight. If you see things going awry - you need to speak up and make it known that that's not tolerated.
