just thought it would be fun to post about crazy roommates we've had and the insane things they do.

My current one just punched me about ten minutes ago after i called her a nasty name. Now, you have to understand WHY i called her a nasty name. This morning she woke me up by complaining that the kitchen was "so filthy (she) couldn't use it". Below is a photograph i took this morning of my "filthy" kitchen

    IMAG0806.jpg

i got home tonight at 10pm. i work outdoors in the sun all day (i love my job but it does wear a guy out, in a good way). I came home, cooked dinner and sat down to watch TV, leaving my pot soaking in the sink so i could clean it later. When she comes home she asks me if i'm going to clean "this mess" up before morning cuz she wants to cook breakfast (woman cannot boil water). Told her i'm certainly not leaving a $110 pan in the sink overnight. So she switches gears, telling me to move my small bag of red potatoes (left over from a stew i made the other night). I ask her where. She says (totally seriously) "In your room". Yelling ensues, names are thrown, and she punches me. not having much experience in these matters i flinch-reacted and grabbed her, crossing my arms in front of her to hold her still until her boyfriend could take her from me (she was in a full-on mental freak out).

A former roommate of mine was a charming, engaging Wilhelmina model who thought I had "potential" and got me an agent, which led to a few Japanese commercials and Broadway musical auditions before my day job derailed me. However, he was also an alcoholic, and some of the crazy things he'd do would be to wake me at 2:00am to borrow money and bring home dangerous tricks who'd beat him up. A few years after I'd left he was found beaten to death, naked, in his charming, antique-filled Upper West Side Manhattan brownstone apartment. Fun, huh?

Dude, its like you just moved in yesterday. Especially with the bottle of 409 handy.

I am the worst sink-as-trashcan violator my friends have ever known. (live alone)

Your $110 pan fascinates me. Falk or Analon? I've not had to soak either of them. But, they do benefit from cooling down first.

"a student in Maryland allegedly admitted to devouring his roommate's brain and heart ...

The man allegedly confessed a shocking revelation: not only had he killed Agyei-Kodie by cutting him up with a knife and then dismembered him, he ingested parts of the victim's brain and all of his heart. He then allegedly dropped most of the remains in a Dumpster behind a church in Joppatowne."

My freshman year of college i lived with 3 other guys, one of whom was... more then a little off his rocker. He used to walk around the room occasionally at night talking in... uhh... well some language that is from... well not a country that exists on this planet and if you attempted to talk to him it was like he couldn't here or see you... ... ... Then he started writing on our desks with symbols that are not part of any language known to man, and just before his parents removed him from school he spent 4 or 5 hours while the rest of us were at class scratching at the wall, his finger nails had all peeled off and he was bleeding when we got back to the room. We tried talked to him but he didnt respond, just kept scratching. Called the police, ambulance came and got him.
All in all not a terrible guy to live with... we we're just all concerned that he might turn into satan in the middle of the night and try to kill us all! A few months after he left we heard from some one who knew him before school that he's now living full time at a mental hospital.

i'm usually a neat freak actually. it was just a late night at work, i came home and made dinner and then cleaned most of it leaving a minimal amount for the next day. Oh, and the pan was All-Clad.

I have a medium-sized investment in pans and cookbooks. (Copper for temp control and heat distribution, cast iron for brazing, non-stick for laziness...)

The irony is my favorite cooking device is a rice cooker.

both of ours unfortunately. i'll never make that mistake again when getting a roommate. I will however be informing my landlady of her "(d)evolving" mental condition since when i move back into a downstairs single-bed unit Roomie has said she intends to stay on in the 2br (lord only knows how she intends to pay for it)

mmmm I once had a roommate who was my best friend for many years before hand who became an alcoholic after he could start buying the booze himself because we had an attraction to me that was no mutual so he would drink a huge bottle of jack daniels and go through 2-3 bottles a week, he would then while drink try and coerce me into hitting him by making threats to the dog or getting in my face, one time he actually even took a bite to my face to try and force me to get violent. needless to say after he assaulted me I quickly moved out of there and though to hell with the lease and the obligations, my safety and sanity come first and foremost.

When shes done she stomps to the washroom or to turn on the air conditioner and leaves it on all night. SoI usually wake up with a soar throat because its freezing by 9am.

Shes not the only problem.. My bf is a snoring pushe off the bed at night kind of guy.. So as we speak im laying kn the couch.

Im happy this thread is up so i can vent.

I lived with a girl who would actually leave her used tampons in the shower. Men can be pretty messy to live with but when women are messy it takes uncleanliness to a whole new level.

I just grabbed her, arms across her chest until her boyfriend came into the room to take her. She's more than a little fucked up (and i'll admit, i must be too to keep getting these whackjob roomies). And the scary part is that she IS and HAS BEEN seeing a shrink for quite some time now. Apparently my calling her a c**t relapsed her to her marriage when her "psycho" husband (honestly, i'm not even sure that's legit considering how whacked out she is) called her the same thing. icon_rolleyes.gif

My last roommate was a dumb hick of a strait dude who used to boink his diminutive girlfriend constantly (oh, and what a surprise she got knocked up). But the sex wasn't the problem. Ohhh no. It was the VOLUME!! In my apt. the two bedrooms are separated by the living room. Even with MUSIC BLARING in my bedroom i could hear they yelping, giggling and spanking each other.... icon_cry.gif

oh that's just nasty. reminds me of my job at Macy's. We used to find feminine products in the changing rooms every single day. Two of them even had the carpet replaced with vinyl because women had peed in them.

It makes me sad that people like this exist in the world, just making life suck for those around them. Even if she move into her own place, you can bet she'll find something about her neighbours to complain to the landlord about, and she'll do shit to bother them.

I find it pretty easy to secure an apartment, just tell the landlord that you try not to bother others or ask for much. They get so irritated by tenants such as this that finding one that's considerate and reasonable is a relief.

Still people like these psycho chicks in the OP have to live somewhere. It's too bad there are no buildings for them all to live together and tear each others' eyes out.

Also, kids are awful awful to live with.

oh, you have no IDEA the shit she complains to management about. I actually had to put my foot down once and forbid her from talking to them...

...she said her towel bar squeaked too much...she wanted them to fix it...

At my old apartment, one tenant made the super come down to shoo some flies out the window.

I just don't know how they got that far in life. I just can't

I'm sharing a place with my cousin who has 3 dogs and 3 turtles. I love animals but not that many in the place I live. Also her off/ on again live in unemployed bf who doesn't pay a cent of rent from his unemployment checks, is a ticking time bomb of an alcoholic that is homophobic and can't be understood sober.

I love my family but there's no helping this, I'll be moving shortly
