My friend recently climbed Mt. Everest. He's now climbed the four highest of the Seven Summits. I'm blown away that he has made these goals and is actually accomplishing them. I guess we all had goals of professional sports or the Olympics as kids but as adults I think a lot of us have given up on ultimate goals. I know a lot of runners aspire to the Boston marathon. Right now I think I'd be really good on American Ninja Warrior but it's more of a dream than a goal.I'd like to break 500 in a deadlift. Do any of you have ultimate athletic goals you want to reach?

Unfortunately not. I've never been able to formulate goals and achieve them since high-school, not just athletic ones. Most of the time I lose interest along the way, my perspective changes, I hurt myself etc.

My goal for the last x years has been to lose weight, but every time I lose some of it, I gain some of it back.

Good question! I aim for simpler things.

I'd like to develop better dexterity on the guitar and get a wider torso. Also, strengthen my core to get rid of my recurring back problems. Know of good, and easy, core exercises? Hotlink, please!

Oh and as for my goals...I want to be able to run 10Ks again, with the speed I had pre-injury. I'm getting there slowly, despite my piling years.

I want to see as much of the world as I can! Goal is to do at least one big trip every year.

Next year I'm planning for either Bali, New Zealand, Australia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Fiji, Thailand (Again), or maybe all of them at once icon_biggrin.gif

Who wants to come with me lol

    EDIT: It's athletic, kinda? lol
I do so much hiking and physical activities during my travels. I can't just sit around and do nothing.

I want to be able to perform a full split by 50. I'm about 8 inches away but don't think I'm going to make it.

Ha! Me too! Well, not by 50. But full split, yes.

Also, backflips. I have this really weird phobia of backflips I'd love to pimpslap and be done with.

Not me, I just had goals of eating delicious ice cream. I still don't have any athletic goals, I just enjoy working out.

I was just watching American Ninja Warrior on my DVR. You should go for it! Did you send in an audition tape?

In my mind it was when I'd burn through a gallon of it while playing video games. AND I GOT GOLD, SILVER AND BRONZE!

Yes, this October I'm competing in my first 24 hour mountain bike endurance race solo. I've done it twice, but in a team of 5 or more. This year, I'm going solo and it will be awesome.

No, but every time I watch I tell myself how well I'd do. It's just a lot of upper body strength and some agility. Of course I also tell myself how well I'd do on Cash Cab.
