I've been working out for the past 6 months now, seriously for the past 4, and I've slowly been ramping up both my weight lifting and my cardio workouts (5 days a week lifting and 4 days a week cardio (2 HIIT, 2 Steady)) I've also been eating much healthier by following a few simple meal plan and drinking lots of water.

Mostly, my goals have been trying to reduce my body fat percentage and build up some lean muscle mass and I've done a pretty good job at it with that diet and exercise. I've seen some good results, but have been wondering about starting to introduce some supplements before or/and after my workouts.

I've never used any supplements before and I've read up on the subject matter a bit, but I find it all a bit confusing. For someone whose in my position and with my goals, what would be a good starting point in terms of introducing a supplement into my system?

the number one thing before you even touch supplements, in my opinion, is to make sure you are keeping up with your water.

number two would be to sleep.

    but if you want supplementation

caffeine a half hour before you workout. cheap, healthy, effective.

weather it is tea, coffee or poppin' pills (200mg) caffeine is great.

increases energy levels, reduces workout induced pain and you simply end up working out harder and better.

and number two would be creatine... mono hydrate is cheap and it works.

5 grams post workout with sugar-drink will do you wonders...

have fun and dont forget to sleep and drink water!

i excluded protein but it would be number 3

You def need a pre-workout and post-workout (protein/recovery). As Track boi said you def need to keep up with your rest and sleep as well. As a beginner take 1/2 of the recommended dose of the pre-workout until you gauge what you can handle of it.

    For losing fat:

    Protein shake before/after workout

7 keto (helps speed up metabolism)

    water

creatine IF you are gaining muscle (not necessary if losing fat)

    multivitamin

*for sake of energy, if I had a rough cardio/weight session I will have half a serving of OJ after workout with protein shake, sometimes I have it while I'm training if I lose energy also (so 1 serving).
