An insight into the sick mindset of conservative bigots.

    http://www.afa.net/Blogs/BlogPost.aspx?id=2147522138

"It is time for conservatives to reclaim and rehabilitate the word “discriminate,” particularly when it comes to homosexual behavior.

"The left has twisted this word to create the utterly false impression that discrimination of any kind at any time for any reason is by definition wrong and immoral.

"Public policy is about discriminating against behaviors that are socially destructive and corrosive to the social fabric. So, we rightly discriminate against people who rip off convenience stores, burgle houses, drive while drunk, eat the faces off homeless people, gun down servicemen on military bases, embezzle funds from employers or clients, or beat their wives.

"We discriminate against adults, even priests, who have sex with children. We discriminate against teachers who have affairs with students. We discriminate against teachers who moonlight in the porn industry. We discriminate against students who engage in sexting. We discriminate against rapists. We discriminate against those who expose sexual partners unknowingly to the AIDS virus. We discriminate against those adults who commit statutory rape against minors. We discriminate against homosexuals and prostitutes by refusing to allow them to give blood.

"The point is this: we discriminate against sexually immoral and inappropriate behavior all the time, and homosexual behavior is sexually immoral and inappropriate."

Of course they're easy. But in their eyes, it's ok to be easy if you're straight.

These people are entitled to their opinion, just as we are entitled to completely ignore them

They're the first people to cry foul if they think they're facing religious discrimination, by the way

If we ignore them, they win.

Don't forget that the whole idea behind their organization is to change laws to strip away what few rights we have. Ignoring them just makes it that much easier for them to do that.

Unfortunately we have an equivalent here http://www.family.org.au/index.php

The recent enquiry into same-sex marriage here has really stirred them up as well I see by the hatred they try to justify on their website.

Don't you find it interesting when conservatives feel they have to state "a different opinion" in various forums and media, when it turns out their "different opinion" is laced with racial and outright hate attacks?

Remember the recent forum topic here on George Zimmerman, where that turned into an attack on "big-lipped African Americans?"

I was shocked to see the accusations in that particular forum, but the stereotyping demonstrated that certain individuals need to not only join the 21st Century, but to leave the past behind and enroll in some diversity training.

And as of today, George Zimmerman is back in the Seminole County Jail where he belongs.

The trouble is that they've convinced themselves that discrimination is itself a right -- their right -- that the guv'ment is taking away.

When has ignoring bigotry ever made it go away? We have only come as far as we have as a community by putting our foot down, voicing up, and not backing off. Continue to let this kind of nonsense be spread by people who are revered as community leaders, and more ignorance is bred throughout the uninformed straight populace. The way this vitriol is halted is when the everyday gay Joe or lesbian Jane in their local environment make their voices and presence known.

"We discriminate against adults, even priests, who have sex with children."

I love how they say "even priests" like they're trying to prove that they're being reasonable and open-minded about this bigoted, narrow-minded statement.

I honestly can't think of anything else to say other than how sad and pathetic it is that people can say something like this and honestly believe it's true and they're right.

    discrimination |disˌkriməˈnāSHən|
    noun
1 the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things, esp. on the grounds of race, age, or sex: victims of racial discrimination | discrimination against homosexuals.

    Key Words: UNJUST & PREJUDICIAL.

And you see what the unprincipled AFA has done: equated being homosexual with criminal & perverted activities that fall under the law, the prosecution of these other acts not being discrimination, but rather justice. But as the AFA would have it, if I can "discriminate" against a criminal then I can discriminate against anyone else I hold to be no better than a criminal in my view.

And guess who here gives the AFA a pass on these lies and distortions, as mere matters of opinion?

I think it's naive and extremely unrealistic to think that bigotry will ever completely go away. As long as there are different people in the world there will be different opinions, bigotry, and prejudice to some degree. I don't give them any attention, as to do so only makes them dig in deeper. They don't deserve attention, they deserve to be ignored as if their opinions are meaningless and unimportant.
