If gays aren't given rights and rediculed for being promiscuous why do heteros encourage this behavior by not letting us marry?

Bit of an oxymoron if you ask me "breeders".

Easy answer: straight right wingers believe there shouldn't be any gay sex at all, whether married or not married, whether monogamous or promiscuous.

Well, in the interest of being fair... they don't want anyone to have sex ever, unless it's for breeding purposes within the confines of a monogamous heterosexual marriage (and even then you're supposed to be ashamed of it on some level).

I just noticed I used the word "confine" in describing marriage... Ah, don't you love how psychology presents itself?

Because they're closeted, and are afraid that if gays get married, their boy toys will marry someone else and stop fucking them on the DL.

I just finished reading the three books I bought a couple weeks ago "The Soul Beneath the Skin", "How Homosexuals Saved Civilization" and "Beyond the Closet" so I'm venting.

We actually have come up with and practice more ways of protecting our sexual partners from STDs more than straights do so I think that deserves honorable mention in arguement. More gay men are celibate than straight men, does that make them actually gay if their not having sex?

The only options aren't marriage or promiscuity. It is possibly to be committed and monogamous without being married, just FYI.

I thought being against gay marriage is like how little kids are with toys. By itself the toy isn't very exciting. It's only when someone else wants the toy that the kid thinks it's precious and doesn't want to let it go.

First I would like to say I would much prefer the ability to convey my love for someone however I see fit, to have my rights protected like any human being. That said - I would sooner slam my head in a car door than ever be married.

Has it never stood out to anyone that straight people have done more to disrespect the institution of marriage than any gay person ever could? From the philanderers that have rocked the White house down to the most lowly backwoods hicks seen on Jerry Springer. Personally, I consider it tainted ground and would rather have something with it's own distinction. Just my opinion.

To hear these bible thumping so called pillars of the American dream drone on about how "special and unique" marriage is and that it must be preserved as GOD intended it - between Man and Woman.. seriously I think I puked in my mouth a bit just writing that. If they truly believe that it's sooo damned special how is it they publicly defecate on it with such wild abandon? Yeah, it's special.

I'm sure Bill Clinton was thinking just that while Monica was sucking him off in the oval office. To put an extra shine on the issue - the ever present separation from church and state that has seemingly gone completely missing when it suites the needs of those who are charged with the representation of our civil rights. In fact - it is their entire argument that marriage is something GOD made sacred to man and woman exclusively.

I'm sorry.. so GOD can stay the hell out of government for all other intents and purposes, no Nativity scenes or reference to anything biblical in any government office or property, GOD is not welcome in school - unless there is a mass shooting or some other calamity at which point we are all about God again.. I can't keep up. As I recall application of laws, protection of freedoms and such were not subject to pick and choose.

Far as we have come, the knuckle dragging mouth breathers still hold the lead, and until we quit excusing people for not getting involved that is how it will stay.

Marriage.. LOL another way of saying "I bet you half my shit we will still be together next year." I'll take my chances with random acts of debauchery.

MolaMola saidI thought being against gay marriage is like how little kids are with toys. By itself the toy isn't very exciting. It's only when someone else wants the toy that the kid thinks it's precious and doesn't want to let it go.

Interesting analogy. Except the Republicans are so selfish that they don't want gays having marriage like them, even though, unlike the kids' toys, nobody's gonna take away the marriages of Republicans to give them to gays.

Oh, they lie that that's gonna happen, and to their more ignorant followers that's believed, so perhaps your analogy works with the trailer park and Bible-thumping crowds.
