I've mainly worked in the aerospace field as a requirements, integration, and validation and verification engineer. I'm hoping someone has connections on here for either a recruiter, or a hiring manager at a company in the field. I'm open to relocation and am immediately available. Thanks for your help, everyone!

I've been hitting the job boards online, so thanks for those... but what I need is an inside connection at a company that can help me in the door.

I've interviewed with them in the past... they're a very cocky company, and I don't think I'd fit in well with their work environment. Thanks though.

Check out Boeing. They're swamped with orders across their product line.

Don't have any inside hook ups for ya but, check the usual suspects if your wanting the private sector ( lockheed dealing with a strike in dfw, Vought aircraft, bell, boeing, american eurocopter, csc, etc etc.). As former DOD I'm sure you know to keep a close watch on usajobs.com which is getting more and more competive due the current economy. If your feeling adventurous check ITT, Dynacorp, Vinnell, CSC, and raytheon for contracts in the overseas contract area.
    Good Luck.

To be honest, if you're really hard up for a job, then you'll endure a shitty work environment and get paid while you look for a job/company that's a better fit. I've had to do it a couple times and it paid off in the end.

Also, keep in mind that companies/recruiters are reluctant to hire people that are unemployed. I know that sounds pretty backward, but it's sadly true. Perhaps this is the reason why you haven't been able to get any leads.

I think the best thing for you to do now is to contact the people used to work with and see if you can get any inside scoop on possible job openings. I'm sure they have family/friends that can provide some leads. I don't think you'll get much luck here. Seems like this site is full of personal trainers and DJs. icon_lol.gif

    These replies are useless.

I just got a job at a contracting company designing jet engine parts in Cincinnati. They have a bunch of different locations too! A friend of mine working there has military experience and I think will be able to use his security clearance for some things. PM me if you think this could be a fit. It's called CDI Aerospace.

Voting Repub is also voting against career options unless you're deeply in the closet, because the Repubs will strip any right to work away from gays.

    Hi Alex,

Welcome to RealJock. What you will discover very soon is that any pertinent question you pose here will quickly become turned into a conversation about politics, trolls, racism, and/or transphobia/misogyny. It'd be better if you'd just stand there and look cute.

    God I hope so,

I want my aerospace company to be the cockiest. I want every employee to BE the best, KNOW that they're the best, and have the balls and backbone to EXECUTE the best.

From everything I've read and seen on Space-X, that philosophy not only comes from the top down but from the bottom up too.

this is not an industry for timid souls.

    VIVE ELON!!

The companies I am aware of have all kinds of diversity programs including sexual orientation. If you google "aerospace companies diversity programs sexual orientation" you can see evidence that they do not "discriminate based on race, color, age, sex, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law." Furthermore, one major aerospace company I am aware of specifically has a "Gay and Lesbian Awareness Week". It is also clear that with the Obama Administration, this industry is specifically targeted, and that is the definite concensus of all the people I know in the industry.

So I stand by my comment, and believe you have nothing to back up yours.

Under the previous Republican administration, we were losing 700k jobs per month.
Now we are gaining jobs under the current Democratic administration. Take your bullshit somewhere else. This man is trying to network and youre trying to derail his thread.
