    Hello friends,

Getting married soon in Italy. Don't know what to expect. I know the American version, but don't want to experience the international flavor in my wedding.

    Thanks a lot

There's no "speak now or remain silent forever"-part there's also no "you may now kiss the bride"-part. Besides that it's pretty much the same to an American roman catholic wedding. Oh and you have to stand in the church and wait until every member of the family complimented you. There are also some customs -depending on in which part of Italy you're getting married- between church and dinner.

Well, but if you get married shouldn't you ask your partner what to expect?

To a man? o_O I thought that same-sex marriage wasn't legal in Italy.

I dunno, man. Could be either a guy that is getting married in one of the provinces or it's a straight guy who is getting married to his bride in Italy and wants to ask us because being gay or bi obviously means we're great decorators.

Um... a lot of Italians get married in the local government house (like the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence). Are you an American getting married in Italy? Is your bride/groom Italian? If so, he/she should fill you in on how it functions.

Ciononostante... se sei uno stronzo che vuole prenderci in giro, guarda te stesso. Non supportiamo trolling qui, mi raccomando.
