I am a 29 y/o white male. When I followed up in my last physical my doctor told me there were red blood cells in my urine, although not visible to the naked eye. He called this microscopic hematuria and ordered that I have two tests done: A CTUrogram and a cystoscopy. The purpose of these tests is to rule out problems like stones, cysts, polps, and even bladder cancer. I had the CTUrogram done and the results came back normal. I have yet to have to cystoscopy done as it sounds very scary. They essentially stick a tube up into your penis and extend it all the way back to look at the prostate and bladder with a mini-camera. EEK! Has anyone had these procedures and if so what were your experiences?

hahaha its not as scary as it sounds, nor as painful.

I had one done, the camera and cables are all very thin and I was numbed a little before the procedure.

I could feel the camera and ever time the doctor moved the cable I could feel it.

To be total honest, its uncomfortable as hell, but it doesn't hurt, but you'll be glad when its over icon_smile.gif

Just get it done mate, once its over, bobs your uncle!

Well I'm happy to say that I had the tests and nothing is wrong. My doctor said that running (or other intense exercise) can cause this to happen and I ran the night before the physical. The tests were not fun, but better safe than sorry I guess. icon_biggrin.gif

You must have good insurance, not sure many would cover more than the initial test, asking you to repeat the urine drop would of been cheaper and less unpleasant.
