This isn't a 'popularity' thread. I just want to publicly acknowledge a few people who have been very helpful to me recently so that everyone else can know how great these guys are.

Gemini503: Thank you for being one of the sweetest and emotionally generous people I've ever had the pleasure of "meeting". You've helped me more than you will ever know and I am grateful for you. I cannot wait for that day to come when we meet in person and I can give you the BIG HUG that I owe you.

pocketnico: When you and i were messaging recently, I literally was bawling my eyes out at the same time. By the time we ended, I felt better. You weren't judgemental. You were just supportive. Thank you! (little did you know that your innocent, "how are you" message would turn into that!!)

mortal12: Thanks for the brief exchange we had. You, too, were just supportive, and that's what I needed. Thanks!!

Former RJ member: Getting to know you over the past 6 months or so will always remain one of the special times in my life. Might sound odd for me to say that, based on circumstances, but I was at a very low point of my life and practically dealing with it solo. I felt like I made a "friend", though I'm not sure you feel the same, but that's okay. Your humor and your sarcastic remarks towards me made me smile though you probably just thought I was weird. It's very tough not chatting with you these days. Just know that I'd "pick up your trash" anyday icon_wink.gif

    I almost forgot:

Johnnyhotsauce: not sure where you're at these days, but thanks for offering to let me use your shoulder. You're awesome. Thanks!

dancerjack: Thanks, again, for the words of encouragement and thank you for being understanding. You're a class act. Thank you

I'm glad I could help! I didn't realize some of the simple things I said were that helpful!

It's nice to be publicly acknowledged that I'm not a total bitch icon_wink.gif

I never liked those "if you're giving out party invitations at school you have to give EVERY kid one" rules we had in kindergarten. All that did was have a couple kids I didn't know show up at my party. Kids need to learn from an early age that the world is not unilaterally equal and that some will be singled out as special while some will not ^_^

If that was the case I never would have been invited to parties in kindergarten. Once 1st grade rolled around a harsh reality set in....

My golden summer of childhood lasted until I was 7, so pretty much 1st grade too. I was so popular and well liked up until then! So many little friends, birthday parties full of kids who liked me.

That came to a SCREECHING halt once I turned 8. I started getting fatter and fatter, hated sports, REALLY got into school so all the teachers doted on me for being such a good student. I fell to the bottom of the social totem pole, got called a faggot every day of my life for oh, the next solid 10 years, had no friends and was the default kid to ridicule and make fun of.

But at least I have memories of kindergarten, of parties and friends, of looking forward to birthdays.
