It's interesting how the series diverts from the books in season 2...it's like watching a whole new series again

Yeah... I've come to terms with that. (e.g. Jayne) ... well, sorta! The whole scene with Dany in the House of the Undying was... interesting. It was certainly an option and an interesting way to have it end up, but exceptionally different from the book. (Dany fans really shouldnt hope for much from her in S3 as well... Book 3 didnt have a whole lot from her, however I am looking forward to the story with her and the Unsullied.

However, the clip at the end with the White Walker on horseback was kinda awesome.

Interesting! I stopped watching after season one since I was trying to watch less TV. But if it takes the storyline in a new way, it might be worth checking out S2. I think the books really slowed down after Book 3, and haven't yet cracked open Dance with Dragons. Opinions on it so far?

GOT is my favorite show! I love it...I just wish that we did not have to wait 9.5 months for next season.

Although another favorite show, Strikeback on Cinemax, returns this month. The guys are smoking on it and there is a lot of sex and partial nudity.

I tried to explain to a non-book reader the visions that Dany had in the books when she visited the House of the Undying. He had no idea what I was talking about! Who is Aegon? Wait, Jon Snow might be what?

It was a smart move not to show those visions. The non-book people would have been lost. All the theorizing and fanatical obsessing that goes with this series is better left for the book readers.

And, YES, you should read the series. I finished all five books and now I am sad because it will probably take the author (George RR Martin) a few years to do so...

To take the political theme even further, here are some political ads from the Seven Kingdoms...

    SPOILERS, obviously.
