Was out to take nature photos for a tutorial on improving "depth of focus" when I found some cool moths and fungi as well. I love when you discover something you didn't plan on discovering.

Not too bad for handheld with a mosquito ringing in my ear. This is an unsharpened cropped in of the full shot.

Let me be the first to share some love here....I like these and I like them a lot. Unfortunately, I did not see the initial thread or I would have commented there as well.

In the fourth pic of the bugs on the daisy, the top ones (that look co-joined) look very much like our own Florida Love Bugs.

Again....great job. You are a very talented photographer and I sure could use some lessons from you!

    Fuck what people here think.

You should be submitting your stuff to Nat Geo.

    Thank you!

Well, you're going to get some lessons, for free! I'm going to give you a copy of my nature DVD, which includes a piece called "10 Nature Photography Tips." I decided to add it for people who want to do more with their cameras. Just finishing that up this week. You can read more about the DVD at http://www.victorrook.com/woods

Email me your shipping address if you'd like the copy and I'll send it out when completed later this month.

Again, thank you for taking the time to look at the pictures and your kind words.

I looked and did not comment. They are beautiful, in case you didn't know.
It's probably not a good idea to look for validation of your photography skills here. I don't comment on every thread I look at (and if that were expected, I would no longer visit this site). So while I thought your photos were great, I didn't feel the need to comment.
Please keep posting. I think people enjoy them.

    Thanks makinmyway!

The fungi looked like it had moss growing it! I was like, cool, something a bit different. I can't tell if I oversharpened it when I resized it for the web. My eyes are tired from looking at the screen. icon_eek.gif
