The point I think the Dems need to drive home is that it is NOT that the state workers were over compensated vis-á-vis private workers. But rather we all should have and could have such benefits, if the corporate execs gave a bigger slice of the wealth that workers create to the workers, instead of hogging it all for themselves.

The senate is out of session for the rest of the year. The victory is symbolic at best. Elections in November could place control back into Repub hands.

Yeah, it's kind of hard to understand why the Dems bothered with the recall of Senators. Maybe there is some advantage even at this time or election time to be in control.

Oooh, wrong. Your state has had a net job loss since your Gauleiter took over.

    There is an advantage.

The fact is that the Repubs lost a seat and will have to gain it back in order to regain control of the WI state legislature.

The Repubs' claims that because of redistricting they're guaranteed to win back control this November are sketchy.
    There are no guarantees.

Claiming that losing another seat - and losing control of the state legislature - is no biggie - is SPIN pure and simple.

The bottom line is that the WI recall elections were a split decision and NOT the major victory for the Repubs they claimed it was on election night.

    The Repubs got it WRONG.

Here's a great article that spells it out well:

"...the governor’s recall election victory sends a clear message that should resonate around the nation: The fiscal cancer devouring state budgets has a cure, and he has found it....This fight is not without precedent. Progressive patron saint Franklin Delano Roosevelt—who more than any other president set our country on a course away from the founding principles of limited government—knew that public sector unions would be the death of the social welfare state he worked so hard to create. Hence, he consistently opposed allowing government employees to unionize. Today, Greece sets the example of what happens when public sector unions gain the upper hand."----http://www.forbes.com/sites/billfrezza/2012/06/05/governor-walkers-victory-spells-doom-for-public-sector-unions/

Today, Britain "sets the example of what happens when" right-wing austerity policies are implemented during tough economic times.

Their economy has slipped into a double dip recession and unemployment is at 11% - while in the US - Democratic economic stimulus policies have kept the economy growing and job growth continues.

You forget gay republicans are, by definition, unscrupulous people. They do not really give a shit about being gay or about preserving or improving the rights of other gay people.

Therein lies the entire destruction of this republic..

Democracy isnt about 'control'. Fascism is. Fascism's goal to promote the rule of people deemed innately superior while seeking to purge society of people deemed innately inferior is a prominent far-right stance.

Fascism promotes political violence and war, as forms of direct action that create national regeneration, spirit and vitality.

You know, if you define republican as Jim DeMInt republican, then yes, but that would be like trying to define democrats as those tax and spend liberals who can't wait to reward their union boyfriends with big contracts for no show jobs.
    Come now.
Many people, I am sure, became republicans because they believe that smaller government is a good idea, that people should keep more of the money they earn and send less of it to Washington. Many republicans, gay or straight, believe that all individuals should be treated equally.
There are radical and embarrassing elements to both parties. To try and tar everyone with the radial aspects of either party is immature and irresponsible.

If this was such a "vindication" for Scotty boy

why the hell all the money ?

There were millions spent on this campaign ... MILLIONS
Walker and the Kochs out spent the democrats 20 to one

There has never ever been and never Will be an election where the winner under spent the loser by that margin ... its impossible

and this further goes to prove how the Roberts court has allowed our country to be bought and sold by the highest bidder ......

Now reality check for you folks over in the great Cheese State
you still got a deficit problem
you still are the weakest job market in the midwestern region
and you have a governor who is a hair shy for being investigated for things he did in the past

So hats off Wisconsin .... you done swallowed good ... GULP . icon_biggrin.gif

Reality Check --- Wisconsin ranks #16 in the job market, ahead of Missouri (#27), Ohio (#29), Indiana (#33), Michigan (#37), and Illinois( #41). Wisconsin's unemployment rate (6.7%) is better than 32% of the rest of the country. Yet again, your posts are heavy on snide, and very light on anything factual.
