This game does look quite good. It's just too bad the wiiU is about 7 years late when it comes to graphics.

Well I highly doubt that considering these systems run on 7 year old technology. They both have less than 1gb of ram and the xbox 360 uses a 65nm processor. Today's cpu's and gpu's are more powerful 10 ten times over. It is rumored that the WiiU's gpu is based off of the Radeon 4000 series. While this would mean that it is capable of producing much sharper visuals and textures than the 360 or ps3, it still leaves much to be desired considering the AMD Radeon is only a few months away from releasing their 8000 series. Sony and microsoft have confirmed that they will be using AMD Radeon architecture for their upcoming systems but I doubt they will be running the latest 8000 series gpu's. Instead they will probably use a highly modified 7000 series to cut costs. I assume they will have at least 1.5-2gb of usable ram which would be nearly 3 times as much as the original systems and will also have <40nm processor. So combining all of this we can conclude that the new systems, if they are even close to the specs I predict, will be 5-7x more powerful than the current systems. And YES that is a LOT more powerful than the current gen.

    technological jargon icon_eek.gif

Graphics are nice, but if a game has substance and content, I honestly don't care how well it is presented. This is where Nintendo has been lacking, unfortunately. The vast majority of Wii games is generic fluff that revolves around gimmicky motion control or combinations of haphazardly put-together minigames (which NintendoLand looks like it's going to turn out to be icon_rolleyes.gif ).

I don't play enough to justify owning more than one console, and although I love my Wii, I would appreciate the gaming experience that 360 and PS3 owners have in variety of quality titles. Nintendo needs to step it up, and ZombiU looks like a good foot in the door.

Yes I agree that graphics aren't everything, but they are a substantial portion to a good gaming experience for me. A great story line and decent content can easily be degraded by sloppy visuals, poor voice acting, and various bugs or glitches. This is why all of that technology jargon is so important. icon_wink.gif

And you are spot on with your analysis of the Wii. I do think ZombiU looks stunning so far.

I "love" it when people try to put the Wii U down for not competing with... systems that haven't even been announced yet and won't be available for well over a year. Wii U isn't competing with those fantasy consoles, it's competing with what's currently out there (PS3/Xbox 360) and it's kicking their ass.

Not to mention that the Wii proved that most people care less about graphics prowess and processing power and more about just playing well-designed games. Playstation and Xbox will just never have Mario/Zelda/Pokemon/etc.

Don't get me wrong: I'm not a total Nintendo fan boy. I bought a PS2 back in the day to play Dawn of Mana and a PS3 to play 3D Dot Game Heroes, and a PSP to play Ys 7. And that's about it. Those are pretty much the only games that are exclusive to non-Nintendo consoles that I had any interest in playing whereas I own tons of games on my Nintendo consoles that I enjoy. I think that says something important.

The Wii was highly successful because it bridged the generational gap for gamers. You had 3 year olds playing Dora's Princess adventure, and 65 year olds playing Wii Fit. THAT'S why it was successful. It was not successful because of hardcore gamers. Sure first party titles like Zelda and Mario have bolstered nintendo sales from the beginning, and as long as those games remain mutually exclusive to nintendo, they will always have a strong selling point for their consoles.

So while YOU and millions of others may be content with the current gen specs, dev kits, lack of 3rd party support, and other follies, it simply will not fly with hardcore gamers. All said, Wii is not in the same league as Xbox 360 or Ps3 when it comes to hardcore gaming. And the WiiU will follow suit when the new sony and microsoft systems debut.

But to each his own. I'm not knocking nintendo for being successful, I'm simply stating facts about the upcoming WiiU and it's lack of technological prowess. The other systems may be "fantasy" (though they really aren't because they are being worked on as we speak) but my predictions for their internals won't miss the mark I can assure you.

ON TOPIC: LIKE I'VE BEEN SAYING ZOMBIU LOOKS VER NAICE !!!1!!!111111!
