If you mean the Frieburg near Basel, then the train is by far the best option. Catch it from Frankfurt airport and it takes you straight to the town.

It's about 2hrs from Frankfurt-am-M to Freiburg im Breisgau, and the full price for a one-way ticket is 65 euros. It looks like there are some discounts, but I didn't find out what you have to do to get them. It might depend on the timing.

If you're going to stay in Germany for a while, I think there is a discounted student pass for the railway.

My partner and I traveled to Freiburg from Frankfurt a few years back...the ICE train is about your best bet. They have different types of passes, days, weeks, etc. The train station in Freiburg is right downtown and is truly the center of the city with easy trams to get around.

    Have fun

(BTW some of the most gorgeous men in the world come from there, the German, French, Swiss mix....NICE!)
