My boss called me in last minute to assist with a seminar, to which I said sure - I'm used to that and it's easy.

Lo and behold the seminar is being conducted all in Spanish (as it was scheduled) and I don't speak Spanish at all. I'm pretty much just sitting around, since I can't moderate, nor help out the instructor and participants. My boss also knew I don't speak Spanish so...oh well!

What silly, uesless or bizarre stuff, that doesn't make much sense, do you have to do at your job?

I've worked at a number of GOCO's (Government-Owned Contractor Operated Facility). Therefore, the list is so long that it would take many volumes of books to write them all down.

One that always gets me (and I still have to do it sometimes) is wearing a hardhat out in the desert. If I step out of my truck, I have to be wearing a hardhat. However, after I step out of my truck, my head is the tallest object for miles around. What is going to fall on me?

At least it's not quite as stupid as the guy who has to wear full motorcycle leathers and helmet to operate the lawn mower. icon_rolleyes.gif

After more than 20 years there, my work said I was fired and made me leave. I think that was pretty silly.
