    Good thread.

Depeche Mode is probably my favorite band of all time. They are the only band I started listening to in high school that I will still buy anything they release today (the others called it quits years ago - Pixies, The Cure, Siouxsie). The last few albums haven't been so great... they desperately need Alan Wilder to rejoin the lineup.

My favorite DM song is "Blasphemous Rumors."
    Favorite album: Black Celebration.

Others tracks I like a lot:

    People are People
    Strangelove
    Master and Servant
    Enjoy the Silence

    "Freelove"
If I could find someone like that, I would probably marry him (if he's hot).

Playing the Angel is ok, nothing special really. It felt like Depeche Mode phoning it in.

But it is infinitely better than Sounds of the Universe.

I watched a documentary about them on tour a while back. Dave is an amazing front man. So much charisma.

My favorite of the old stuff is from the album A Broken Frame:

Last year they released a collection of their remixes. This is one is outstanding:

Trollileo saidI'm not the greatest Depeche Mode fan, but this song is by Erasure which was formed by Vince Clarke, Depeche Mode founder.

Vince Clark and Martin Gore were back together this year after more than 30 years under the band name VCMG. No vocals, and not really pop radio friendly but Ssss was still an interesting album.

That is a great song and Depeche Mode never liked it. It's a U.S. only single from the Modern Girls soundtrack and Black Celebration (U.S. version only). In the rest of the world it was only a B-side. This song was the other way around, not released on an album in the U.S., but on Speak and Spell in the rest of the world. Kind of odd, upbeat music for a song called "I Sometimes Wish I was Dead."

I kind of sound like a DM fanatic, because I kind of am.

"People are People" and "Personal Jesus" got me thru the 1980s (along with hefty doses of Yaz, OMD, and New Order.

Enjoy the Silence was good thru the first half of the 1990s.

Seems most people like their newer moody stuff. I tend to like the older quirky pop tunes a little more.
