Jealous of Straight Men?

Has anyone experienced this in their early years?

I am so jealous of straight men. I feel like their life is so much better than mine and can get away with so much more. I envy the fact that they like women because I feel like its superior. They can talk about it in public and be as graphic as they want and no one bats an eyelid.

Movies, TV, magazines and everything else caters to them. I hate being a minority, because even in a totally accepting society I would still rarely be thought of because of the sheer fact there aren't that many of us compared to them.

You don't wanna go to the strip clubs with them and obviously don't pick up girls at parties. You could try picking up guys but what are the odds of a gay dude at an average party anyway. Why is it so lonely being different and what is even the point of it all? No one really understands and no one wants to. If its not ridicule we get from our straight counterparts, it's pity.

I remember going through this stage.
Eventually I just accepted that life wouldn't be fair for me and haven't thought about how unfair it is pretty much since I was a teen.

Since then I've found some things about being gay that are better than being straight. I can't tell now which I would be better off being. no matter anyway.

I was jealous at first, but not for the reasons the OP mentioned. I was jealous because they didn't have to go through the coming out process. Now, I realize there wasn't any reason to be jealous. While it might not seem that way, straight guys have their own struggles.

    Me too.

Never been jealous of straight men. They get more mainstream acceptance that's true but who wants to be part of the 'herd' when you can be something special. We don't have the pressures to live a conventional lifestyle (marriage, kids etc) and we can create the kind of life we want.

Think I have had a much better life than most straight guys, who seem to be saddled with so many problems. Plus having sex is much easier for gay men, and we get a lot more!

I've no reason to be jealous of this issue.
I've no reason to be jealous of what I know I can obtain, the same as them.
Simple put, No, because I am confident in my self and my abilities and something like this can't touch me because I won't allow it. That is my strength and defense from being jealous.

Being jealous of the straight life is a normal stage. You go through the process of mourning all those things you can't have. But then you emerge, knowing that love is still a possibility, and that everything you thought was impossible b/c you are gay is still there, waiting for you to take it. You're different, special, and there's nothing to be jealous of. Much love.
