    Inspired by my other thread:

    http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/2434531/

LATINO: "aye papi, your eyes are so mesmerisingly beautiful, I feel like I can see straight into your soul"

FRENCH: "Careful there, you let something fall (person looks).. it was my heart!"

    CANADIAN: "You're pretty. Fuck me."

Just to prove these things really work, I once gave a Latino guy my butt just for saying the first line to me. And I didn't find him attractive. And I'm not a bottom !

The second one was told to me in France by a straight guy, and he said it worked like a charm on girls there... me and my Caribbean friends thought it was just too cheesy and wouldnt do a thing for us.

The last one I have heard from Canadians and even though I found them very attractive physically, I found that line so direct it totally put me off and had me turn around and not engage in it, leading to much disappointment I am sure....

My Canadian friend in the Caribbean told me he found the Latino style we were using to be "so much work and effort"... so he found it very frustrating to flirt with guys there. Conversely, my European friends in Canada said that the Canadian style was too direct for them as well. As far as one-night-stands are concerned, we both agreed that in our style, we usually get to know the person to a high degree before a hook-up occurs, we talk about our jobs, families etc, to the point where you may forget the person's name, but can still say a lot about who they were.

Anybody else any experiences or tips to share? Advice? Interesting stories about cross-cultural flirting? This has good potential for a subject, so feel free!

Flirting gives me anxiety (giving and receiving). It's so hard for me to do! I'd much rather cut to the chase.

    Oh well.

Interesting. I like the bluntness, that turns me on. Cheesy lines would make me think "he uses this on every guy until one falls for it".

A guy saying "that cucumber would look great shoved up your pooper" would win me over. I had no idea it was a Canadian thing. No need to become cultural I guess.

Yup, it is what you're used to... the romantic Latino thing I always used to fall for... we dont take it seriously at all... it in no way creates an expectation of a date or a relationship for me, to be so romantic about it, we dont actually take the cheesiness seriously, it just kind of shows one's willingness to put effort into seducing you, which is flattering.... the guy who used that line on me was totally a one-night-stand... and I had no intention of sleeping with him at all... but when he came out with that, and sounded completely sincere, I was like... "ok, you can have my butt" lol... sometimes I have had Latino's start whole conversations to create opportunities to slip flirtations in... I knew perfectly well their only goal was to flirt... but part of the reasons its convincing is when they put the effort into it, the subtle and tricky ways to get there... those things are a turn-on

most people I know when they come to Canada they are put off by the bluntness, not just in flirting is it a turn-off, but in everything... it just kind of shocks you and drives you away, its too "in your face" for us and doesnt give us the pleasure of a journey to get there, bacuse it is the journey itself that makes it convincing to us... it's really just cuz we're not used to the directness... I am much less shocked now and more open to it now that Ive lived here for a month... and it would not drive me away now... but when it used to happen before, it was a total recipe for a communication shut-down, and I would quickly "go away" feeling rather attacked out of the blue if you will

So this is useful if you plan to seduce someone from a different culture haha

I think it comes from the geographic area - the pick up lines and how they are said.

in general, men in europe are brought up to be civil and romantic, whereas men in south america and africa were brought up to woo their women.

and for north america... I dont even know... lol... it's just a clusterfuck ...

I find arabs have it perfectly:

    "ahlan ya habibi..."

    translation: "Hey, my love"

    short and sweet.

I wouldn't take it seriously if someone said "hey wanna fuck?" To me that's something to laugh about, sort of like an ice breaker and then the flirting begins. If I was one to have sex, I would have lots more get-to-know-you stuff to do first before going to have the fuck.

I enjoy the chase, whether being the persuer or the one pursued. I'm especially turned on by the effort Latins and Americans put into it. I don't think the Canadian approach would work on me.

I have gotten that one quite a few times in Asia icon_smile.gif I don't think it ever worked for them though.

I like the direct approach myself icon_smile.gif Nothing sexier than a man admitting what they are truly craving from you icon_smile.gif

I don't know about the "Canadian" flirting style.

I mean not that I'm master at flirting or anything but at least my experience here on the west coast Canada, we're actually pretty timid.

Like back in university 5-6 years, the American complain about us Canadian being too shy and too timid. We're not one to initiate and even if we do, its mostly friendly.

If anything, its the American are the usually more direct and forward.
