Hey Guys - Flying into Ft. Lauderdale FLL meeting up with 2 or 3 guys and we will have 2-3 days to spend before getting on one of those cruise ships. I'm planning to rent a small plane, probably a twin, for us to travel around during those 2-3 days. I have a folding bike, but the other guys don't. Plan is to fly around and use the bikes to explore. Also open to any ideas where to go. Thinking of somewhere in the Bahamas or Key West. Been to many places in the Carrib, but never on a bicycle.

    Thanks for any tips.

Have you been to Fort Lauderdale before? If not, there are probably enough things to do here to keep you busy for two or three days. What kind of things do you want to do? I'm not aware of any bike shops that rent folding bikes, but there are several bike rental shops locally that you could contact.

Hey - thanks for the replies.

FLL is a nice place but I've been before and was just interested in doing something different.

Ferry is a definite possibility. I had been wanting to fly around Fla or Carrib. Haven't had too much flying time lately so I thought that would be a good chance. I enjoy the low altitude sight seeing in the southeast. Most of my flying in the West is up at altitude or with students studying for their instrument rating in the LA Basin - not the most relaxed kind of flying. I was just thinking of folding bikes because I have one but if the other guys got regular ones it would work. Just might have to get a bigger plane and the other guys would have to pay more for fuel.

Edit: Nevermind...called them...they don't have the 310 anymore, and the guy with access to bicycles no longer works there.

I did. I called a couple of bike shops. Need to call more. I thought there was an outside chance to get a lead here. Also by describing the situation a bit, I got some other ideas from the nice guys who responded.
