I've met some gay guys recently and they told me that they DO NOT Have any women friends.

In fact one of them said they really don't care for women.

I was wondering if there were guys here who don't have women friends.

    Find this fascinating.

Most of my friends are women, and most of my closest friends are women. I have always gotten along with and befriended women much faster then men, even as a small child. When I was only 3 years old in preschool I always became good friends with the "nicest girl in the room". I vaugely remember it, but my mother recounted it for me.

I think I just feel more comfortable expressing myself and sharing my feelings/emotions with women then I do with men. Always have. I wish I could open up and feel more comfortable with men, as I feel it is a block I have, but I have made progress for sure.

Some of my closest friends are straight women who I love dearly. I think it's healthy to have a good mix of male and female friends.

I have a couple of closer female friends, but I'm mainly friends with guys. Nothing towards woman, and I certainly don't want to stereotype them, but the ones I have met just can't control themselves emotionally.

They also want to take me shopping when they find out I'm gay. They find it difficult to accept that I hate nearly everything about shopping, unless it's for food or video games haha!

    She is def. cool.

I also have several friends that are women, some are lesbians and some are straight. When it comes to friendship I can not understand why someone would want to reject half the population.

My longest friendship, which is now going on its 22nd year, is with a woman. I really don't understand misogyny, and find it irritating. From gay men no less.

I have had a quite a few straight female friends, but sooner or later they all tend to pair up with some boring guy, become all conservative and then decide it's time to "grow up". And when the kids come along you can forget about being on the radar unless you want to fit in with their schedule 100% of the time.

So too all those young guys out there with a female bestie, enjoy it while it lasts. No matter how close you think you are, you will be lucky if it stands the test of time - and biological clocks.

The ending of WIll and Grace was spot on.

Why would you care about the gender of your friends? Friends are all about personality (at least for me) not about looks.
    So yeah

This. Except in my case the four longest are in their 38th, 37th, 32nd and 32nd years.

I actually had a moment at Thanksgiving when I introduced her to my cousin. I said, "This is my friend Monica, and we've been friends for 22 years. Which is longer than you've been alive."

I also think it is nothing short of hilarious to hear, from gay guys, that women are just too emotional and erratic. I guess the best comedy is unintentional.

I don't have too many female friends though (acquitances yes, friends no). No real reason behind this, but we tend to not share too many common interests. Of course there are some exceptions. I have a girlfriend with whom I can talk about videogames or music as well, but my interests tend to lean closer to the interests of my male friends. It's a real turn-on when I can talk to women about things like football (soccer) or videogames, but that unfortunaly doesn't happen too much icon_biggrin.gif

When I meet up with a gf, I usually let them lead the conversation and just follow with it and show interest in their interests, because most of the time they are not able to do the same with me. At my job I have a lot of female colleagues and we laugh quite a bit as well, but we'd never be friends. And that's fine.
