I knew they were coming out with this.

I love some bacon in desserts from a trusted restaurant. But Booger King--not so much.

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidI can't fathom the mixture of ice cream and bacon together. That shit sounds nasty.

Bacon goes well with chocolate, so I would image that it should go well with ice cream. People dip their salty, greasy french fries into Wendy Frosties, so why not? (I've never done that, myself)

People have milk shakes with their bacon cheeseburgers all the time, so I don't see the big deal, unless someone comes up with a shake including not only bacon, hamburger, cheese, bread, pickles, mayo, white bread and fryer grease but a few other choice ingredients.

    BEHOLD, MY BRETHEREN!!

    Photobucket

Comet Cafe, Milwaukee: Vanilla Bacon ice cream, with cinnamon.

To answer the question, "Does bacon work in dessert?", I give you an unequivocal, 'YES." This was so good, I wanted to have sex with it.

    Come visit Milwaukee. icon_biggrin.gif

And after all....it all goes to the same place, right? Goes to your stomach, so might as well combine bacon with ice cream.

Sometime back, I made Lobster Mac and Cheese. There is another combination that doesn't quite go together, but it was damn tasty!

This is an Interesting combination. I keep thinking, "Would I want meat in my ice cream?" I wonder how they are going to market this and convince average customers to try it.

"The salty-sweet dessert clocks in at 510 calories, 18 grams of fat and 61 grams of sugar."

Nobody is mentioning that. 510 calories, 18 grams of fat, 61 grams of sugar. You will get diabetes eating this thing just once.

    A bit hyperbolic perhaps?

No one is suggesting this'll be some bastion of healthy eating. It's called a rare indulgence. Or at least it should be...

Interesting... A little sea salt's great on chocolate, & in the South people sprinkle salt on watermelon. So, maybe... Just seems like a polarizing menu choice for mainstream BK.
