A friend and I had the same observation about her: she sounds like she's falling asleep whenever she's singing. Lay off the horse tranquilizers, honey...

I contemplated tranquilizers whilst listening to her static drone, but, another remedy was yet more appealing

Hahaha, I can't get over that .gif.

But yeah, she is rather bland. I do enjoy her image, though. And to be fair, she hasn't really had a tangible hit, so I wouldn't say people grant her much prestige anyway... or at least not in the United States.

About this, you and I agree. Her "artfully not-trying" style reminds me of when art critics review paintings by this guy:

    lol
I still love and listen to her music. icon_lol.gif
But I agree with the word "overrated"
Last year I even thought she could make a big surprise as Adele then the SNL performance ruined it all. icon_rolleyes.gif

I liked born to die but then every song after sounds exactly the same. Plus her face looks like she just smoked a joint and is not hungry for some Nutella.

Like most of what is on the radio, it is music for people that are fine with the same old thing they've been hearing and always hear. They don't want the music to challenge them and if they hear something outside of the formula, they don't really understand it.

Hmm, I wouldn't really say that she sounds like everyone else on the radio.

I really like her album, but she needs to get over her performance anxiety : there are some videos of her playing in smaller venues that are really quite good, but her SNL performance was awful...

curious though that you think she sounds like everyone on the radio...have you listened recently?

She's no better and no worse than all the other banal pop music on the airwaves.
