I've been excluded from 2 churches so far in the past year. I decided not to attend a church that excludes people at all. I will now attend a gay friendly church that I should have stay at. Once you ask that question via email or other way about "what is the stance of the church on gay/bi church members", I notice a majority of churches will not even respond to you anymore. Even seemingly well educated pastors will not extend a welcome.

Look for a church that has stated it is "an open and affirming" church.

Or, if Jewish, I believe the temple code is "fully egalitarian"

Wow that's really sad, I didn't know churches would do that. Fuck that. I'm religious but my school did the right move in kicking 13 religious groups off campus for anti-gay policies: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702304070304577395954161137584.html

Too bad that's an opinion piece that opposes what Vanderbilt has done, and fails to tell Vanderbilt's side, nor mention any gay factors in the university's action.

Not me personally, but friends here. These were gay guys who sang in church choirs, but were expelled from the congregation when other choir members exposed them as being gay. The churches were Baptist, and a Presbyterian megachurch, that only recently ended age-segregated services.
