I can't stop listening to the release of Every Single Night. I've been a huge fan since Tidal, and I just wanted to see if there are any other excited Fiona fans anticipating the release of that new album with the title that is so long, why even bother writing it!

She's phenomenal. My favorite record of hers is Extraordinary Machine but this new record sounds like to it's walking into territory she hasn't crossed before; very refreshing.

For a while you can hear the whole album on NPR:

I'm really exited for this. What I've heard so far has been excellent.

Question for Fiona fans - did you prefer the Jon Brion version of Extraordinary Machine or the official version? I loved the Brion version.

she's really one of the best out there, and there really are few people who match her songwriting abilities.

Nothing wrong when a song ends in the minor key...

    Obsessed with this album.

I loved loved loved the first two cds. However not a fan of the direction of the last two cds. Much more of a difficult listen. Not sure I can get back into her. Would like some more stuff along the lines of Sleep to Dream, Limp and Paper Bag

I like that her music has evolved. I love Tidal, but she's on this journey that's leading her to new sounds, new ways of interpreting and communicating her perspective. Yeah, it's weird, and it's hard to find a hook or melody, but it's raw, dude.

thats the problem with me..the lack of hook. Even on the first two cds, it was a bit of a difficult listen but there were melodies and hooks that you could hold onto. I just can't get into it now.

Almost like with PJ Harvey, her Stories from the city, stories from the sea cd was absolutely a masterpiece, one of my favorite cds of all time but her next release a bit less accessible but still there were some hooks, then the next two releases were just out there and I couldnt put in the effort.

Stories from the city/Stories from the Sea was fucking amazing. Is this Desire, more so; blew my mind. I get what you're saying. Let the songs rest, give them another listen, maybe you'll see something different you didn't the last time. But music is up for interpretation and appreciation is relative.

Well the quintissential Fiona song is a ballad. It is slow and heavy, and her voice viscerally muscles its way through the lyrics. It's passionate but underneath a surface of self-reflection and humor. I think you'd like "Valentine". I dedicate this song to you:
