Not sure if this is old news or not; thought I'd share it anyway, for the benefit of the other astronomy buffs out there. icon_biggrin.gif

"They both carry a greeting for any extraterrestrial life they may bump into, a phonograph record and 12-inch gold-plated copper disk with sounds and images of life and culture on Earth selected by a group chaired by the famous space scientist Carl Sagan."

And didn't Carl leave some pot seeds in the record jacket fold?

I can remember calculating, when Vger took off, how old I'd be when it would reach the edge of our solar system. That seemed so far away, almost unimaginable. And now to remember all the way back to lift off, it seems so far away, almost unimaginable.

I had to stop there because I couldn't stop laughing after misreading the last word.

Maybe I should stop using Carl's secret to a joyful life.

BTW, I knew Voyager I was getting close to the edge. It's nice to see it finally made it. icon_biggrin.gif
