A trip is set for Alaska this week. I'm hyped over the photos to come that will be taken on a flight seeing tour around Denali [Mt McKinley], landing on a glacier, and driving the two routes between Fairbanks and Anchorage. Photos from last Summer's trip through the Canadian Rockies had a blue tinge that resulted from either the frigid air or the brightness of the snow. The same is expected with photos from this trip. What can be done to correct color in the photos? I do have photo editing software which includes Roxio-Photo Suite and PhotoShop Lightroom. Thanks for the help.

If you have Lightroom, you're set. All you need now is a calibrated monitor and a few hours/days/weeks/years of playing with Lightroom to figure out how to fix the color.

BTW, it's a pain in the ass even after you figure it out, unless you enjoy sitting on your ass for hours.

With Lightroom if you have the same problem, such as a blue tint, on all the photos, you can apply the same corrections to a set of photos and save a lot of time.

If your camera records in raw, use that rather than jpeg, and convert at home. Or use custom white balance .

I did the best that I could with the tools and I'm happy with the product, but looking forward to skills improving with time. Two of the albums concentrate on geologic features and can be viewed at:
