What to eat pre/post workout when I don't have time to cook anything?

    Hi all,

Typically I cook something up before a workout, and do the same after a workout. However, my new job doesn't give me the ability to do that most of the time.

So, what are some things I can prepare for my pre/post workout? Looking for things that don't need a lot of prep (drinks?), or things I can prepare the night before and just carry with me.

Also, should I be having different things depending on if I'm doing a cardio or strength workout? Any help/advice with pre/post workout nutrition would be awesome. Thanks,

Different guys will have different brands they prefer, but your situation is where meal replacement powders, drinks, and bars come into play. Alternatively, you could carry around a small amount of nuts and fresh or dried fruit and, if you have access to a cooler, maybe some cottage cheese or cold chicken breast or other meat.

I'll leave it to guys with a better handle of nutrition for post cardio versus strength workouts to give more details, but post strength I've always heard you want a mix of protein and fast acting carbs like from fruit or fruit juice.
