I'm fixing to head to Cabo San Lucas/Brazil/Argentina in the next couple of months and I really want to wear a speedo/trunk to the beaches there. Although I'm really apprehensive because I'm only 23 and showing a lot of skin.. Has anyone been to those places before and worn those kind of outfits? If so.. Where could I buy something like that to wear? Defo not the kind to get embarrassed. Just trying to come out of my comfort zone icon_smile.gif)

Well I can tell you that those places aren't really hung up on stuff that you where to the beaches, there are actually lots of beaches where women just go topless and they're not even considered 'nude beaches.' So I'd say it's safe to wear the speedo thing that you want to. Hope you have fun there man!

Go and see what the locals are wearing. Buy one.

BTW, whenever travelling abroad don't pack many clothes. Buy them while you're out of the country. It's harder and more expensive to find foreign fashions in the U.S.

Ahh okay so you think I should wait till I get there before I buy one? See what the locals are wearing?

I'm not sure because I think I want to wear a speedo out in public but will shoot down whomever wants to argue with me about it. I'm definitely ready for it icon_smile.gif))

At the beaches no one will argue with you for wearing it. Like I said, lots of people go to those South American beaches wearing a lot less, but GAMRican is right that you should judge what they're wearing too... I dunno about the buying clothes there idea though, unless you're trying to not look like a tourist I guess...

Find something before you go, then you'll be sure you have something that you're comfortable wearing in case you can't find anything once you've arrived. Aussiebum makes some nice styles that are flattering with nice colors. This is their "Retro" style:

    And the "League Brief:"

I can only speak to Brazil, as that's the only place on your list that I've visited. Most Brazilian men wear what is locally called a "sunga". Similar to one of the Aussiebum retro styles above, it is somewhere between a speedo cut and a square cut, more loose in the front and tighter in the rear. They're great at showcasing the hot bodies of many of the Brazilian men, covering the rear entirely while still showing it off, but somewhat masking what's going on up front. I was really looking forward to wearing some of my speedos down there, thinking they'd be popular, but I was surprised to find that almost no one wears them in public and prefer the sunga on the beaches. I actually bought a few sungas when I was there and get compliments when I wear them elsewhere. They're sold in most stores/shops, so I'd suggest getting one when you arrive.

Hey thanks that's really good advice. I'll be sure to look into them now. Should I take one with me or buy one when I get there?

I'd wait until I got down there if I were you. Not sure if you could actually find one to purchase beforehand, and the fit is unlike anything I've worn before, so sizing online may be difficult. Have a great trip! Jealous here!!

Well, wearing a sexy swimsuit around lots of eye candy in similar swimsuits isn't going to help you much there! Make sure to make ample use of the cold water when it gets to be too much, lol....

Just be careful. The sun at Cabo is very strong and you will burn in something like no time at all. I was there a few years ago, wore not a speedo but a nice pair of square cut trunks, and the first day out I was in the pool for two hours playing with my baby niece (she was just learning to swim)...and afterwards, misery.

Valid point of concern, particularly when wearing a swimsuit that shows more skin than you're used to. I'd suggest you put on sunscreen before heading to the beach and before you put anything on. That way you can make sure to cover all of the sensitive areas and avoid painful burns in your nether regions. Of course, reapply often....

Cabo will be different from Brazil/Argentina since it's likely going to be Orange County, just 1,200 miles south. icon_smile.gif

That said, I have been wearing speedos in public since I was 19, and I have never received "pushback" from random people. Some of my friends may have teased me, but that's different.

Wear what you want; don't overthink it. At the end of the day, it's a swimsuit.

Wear anything you want. You are in a tourist area where there will be lots of variety. You are also not going to be around people you know who might judge you, so let loose if you like.

As for the sunscreen, use it a lot!!! Don't have your vacation ruined by sunburn. Keep up the hydration, too.

As for this guy^ yes last week I wanted to lose fat and gain muscle in 10 weeks so I could look good in Brazil. And I've been constantly worrying about my hair line for years so I finally decided to ask for advice on how I could go about getting it fixed, when I am in Brazil.

I don't really know who you think you're talking to but I don't even let my friends speak to me like that. There's no reason for you to be acting all thug like. I am trying to get advice from other people around the world who have been in the same situations. Trying to better my life.
