    just a few more questions...

How long have you been on RJ and what keeps you from leaving RJ?

There must be tons of forum guys who have come and gone from RJ... how long do you think the average RJ forum member stays before he becomes tired of the boards and disappears?

... and finally it has been mentioned that the RJ thread quality has gone down, what do you think attributes to this and more importantly, what was RJ like before thread quality started tanking?

Joined in October 2007 and have not left yet. My forum participation has actually gone up this year. Don't plan on leaving anytime soon, although I may take a bit of break every now or then.

Joined January 2008. Haven't left yet too.

As for quality, I don't really see any difference. It's probably just illusion because to us older members all threads begin to repeat themselves so we begin to notice the less *ahem* profound threads.

Still there were just as many flame wars before as there are now. Abortion, Religion, G0ys, HIV, Bisexuals, coming out threads... these are some of the staples.

I think I joined back in October, but it might have been November. I stay because there are some obscenely funny guys around here, and some amazingly good ones, too. And...well...I have to have something to distract me in tiny moments of downtime at work, right?

I think forum quality is constantly in flux. It's what we make of it, and what we put into it.

I joined in June '06. Two months later I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. I have no recollection of RJ before Dec '06 when I started my cancer blog on here.

I stayed on here because, during the cancer treatment, I couldnt leave the house and this provided my one means of socializing...which is why my number of postings is so high.

I have only in the past several months been able to take an interest in the fitness portion of this site.

Lately I have been annoyed with myself for spending so much time on here. I take this as a good sign...a sign that my brain is healing after the treatment and it wants to do other things. Today I was signed out for a 2 or 3 hours this morning...and I slept instead! hahahahahahahaha ...so much for my brain wanting to do other things.

I am going to try to limit myself to 3 "sessions" on RJ a day...morning, noon, and evening....and try to keep them to an hour each.
