One shackle would be cool, two is too much. Fun shoes...goes with the diamond gun necklace and gun tattoos I wouldn't mind having for just a day

I read about this on CNN last night. They are pulling it cause of the uproar it got on Facebook claiming that it is too much like slavery. Why do people always have to overreact? It is a shoe for god sakes! I highly doubt the guy who designed wanted to offend people. People just love to play the read card whenever they can

I say anyone who would've actually bought those would totally deserve to look like a criminal or a slave.

I don't think Jeremy scott was trying to evoke the image of slavery at all, but a huge portion of people who buy Jeremy Scotts are black and Latino. People probably felt like Adida's was gearing up to market this shoe to black and latino children because jeremy scotts are already heavily advertised to them.

Since Jeremy Scott has so many buyers that are minorities, they should be cognizant of designing a shoe that a lot of minorities will probably be wearing.

He makes a lot of good shoes though and I hope this doesn't damage his reputation as one of the Sneaker Gods.

the whole "uproar" about them being "offensive" is just another example of the overbearing atmosphere of political-correctedness in this country. Now i'm not saying that we should go around yelling offensive, Non-PC words at everyone or making fun of slavery or the Holocaust but seriously? out of ALL the applications ankle shackles have had over the centuries you have to pick African Slaves? People are too sensitive about stuff and too willing to see offenses where there needn't be any.

Pretty odd overall, but you know it could sell I suppose, but I agree, it probably won't make it to the stores

If the shoes were round and the whole thing was flat black with little rust spots on them, they'd look much awesomer.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Once again paul shows his brilliance. If the shoes were that color there wouldn't even be any controversy.

So now they will not be selling these sneakers...I think it looks more like Lance armstrong mixing with Paula Abdul "Straight Up Livestrong"

If it were for the shackles I would buy the shoes. But I mean really why would you put shackles on the shoe anyway?

I wish they made these into actual running shoes (medium arc, neutral pronation). I'd buy it.
