    By far my favorite on that page. But I have a feeling many of these guys aren't gay, just brothers or best friends horsing around.

    Yes, it's interesting how our culture's tolerance for/encouragement of physical affection between men has changed over the past 100 years or so. As late as the 1940s, it was far from unusual for male friends to embrace, hold hands, even kiss, and it was perfectly acceptable - "no homo". icon_smile.gif

    In the 1927 silent movie, "Wings", a World War I fighter pilot kisses his dying friend on the mouth. Not only was the movie a box office hit, but it won the Best Picture Oscar that year.

    So, charming as those old photos are (and they are charming), it's difficult to gauge how "gay" they are.

    That first picture set is wonderful. I would have loved to have had 64 years with my buddy.
