Anyone have any suggestions for afternoon/ evening snacks? I'm a runner and lifter, so I need a lot of protein, but also having a reasonable carb content.

Here's my post from the other thread. These are convenient for on-the-go. They have some carbs, but also have good protein.

You can try Kash GOLEAN Crunchy Bars. They have some good protein and keep me filled up. I get them in variety packs from Amazon. My family gets them very cheap from Costco, but I don't know if you have that in Canada.

My snacks generally always have peanut butter in them. Or the snack is just peanut butter. Peanut butter is perfect.

Always two jars of these in my cupboards (because Costco sells them in 2-paks).

I could survive on just peanut butter and water, I think, and not feel totally deprived.

...I'd need coffee and booze. Other than that, I'd be fine.

Afternoon snacks: granola bar or oatmeal cookie, yogurt, fresh fruit (apple, banana, orange, whatevers in season)

Evening snacks: cereal (Vector or Raisin Bran) with 2% milk, and a handful of fresh berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, or whatever)

    - both snacks have enough protein (from the yogurt or milk), good carbs and fiber (from the granola, cereals), vitamins and natural sugars (from the fruit) to keep you going and satisfied, but without weighing you down, or resulting in major fat storage.

Definitly, you just have to eat more than you burn. Cottage cheese is great.

Pretzel crisps with Nutella. I know it's not healthy, particularly, but it gives me a calorie infusion before heading out on a 25-mile post-work ride or run on the trails.

Whatever you do, don't eat cereal at night.....I stopped eating a bowl at night and lost like 12 lbs just from that. +1 to the fruits and veggies though.

I already eat a ton of fruits and veggies during the day. If I'm not cereal, what could I eat? Almonds are apparently really fatty/ high calories. I need something light in calories that is going to keep me satiated.
