Ever gone to a medium before? I kinda wanna go to one this summer just to see what happens. I've been watching some show online and they seem legit/ freakishly accurate!

i do believe in what the legit ones do but i think it'd be tough to find a legit one. i would not trust anyone who you call and you pay by the minute. but i once had a reading by a voice medium, who did it over the phone and i thought he was spot on with some stuff (other things i thought were good guesses or very general in nature). But i asked him 'will i find true love?' and he hemmed and hawed and mentioned that i had things to resolve first - and i didn't even mention to him how closeted i was then.

i am a big fan of that Long Island Medium and i love her TV show, and i think she's for real. With the cameras following her around all the time, as well as her family (cute son!) i think if she was a fake she'd have been found out and/or slipped up by now.

my advice would just be to be careful and watch your wallet, of course.

All right I will admit it. I always enjoy watching Theresa Caputo. I also will say that I definitly believe in some higher power and that upon death, the spirit does live on. Death is something I have always found to be fascinating since I was 14 or so. I also believe in intuition and channeling certain energies. I know there will always be skeptics, but I've had too many "coincidences" to not at least believe some of it.

Yeah I love watching long island medium, she is definently the real deal. I don't trust the pay by the min phone ads. I've got some good recommendations from some people I know, way more trustworthy.

I can honestly say that all mediums are fake and out to take your money. I wonder where all the mediums were on September 10th, 2001. It might have been nice to warn people in the Twin Towers what would be happening, but maybe they're too busy talking to the dead to look into the future like that.

Mediums actually go by something called "cold reading." I suggest you look it up. They prey on the naive and people who are grieving. It's not right and I won't stand for their superstitious bullshit.

I made my nephew a believer when I had to give him my old shirts after I realized I'd never be a medium again.

There is nothing freakish about any medium who is accurate. It's a gift they were born with: communicating with the Spirit World.

We are all born with a highly developed sense of intuition - our connection with Consciousness. But because our modern society frowns upon such a belief as nonsense, we cast aside our intuitive, creative, right-brained thinking for that of the logical, scientific and left-brained approach.

More information on mediumship can be found by clicking on this link:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mediumship

To the OP....don't be reluctant to ask a lot of questions and remember to keep an open mind. If you do get to visit a medium....remember...they're communicating with spirits on another level of consciousness since there is NO death.

    Good Luck!

Carol Lynn from Mass. is one of the most famous authentic mediums. She helps people mostly who have unresolved issues and grief from tragic or sudden losses of loved ones. Check her site. She does require payment, but not by the minute. She is a little expensive, but hey, if you have a gift, use it and make some cash. Its ok, Madonna and Janet do it lol :-) She has helped a lot of people.

I'm enjoying all the medium jokes :-)

As far as the spirit world mediums go, nope, I don't believe in them, some seem authentic, it's just because they are good at cold reading. They are the best scammers of the "mediums"

I see them purely as entertainment, because that is all they are. Whatever floats your boat.
