What's a reasonable price, in your opinion?

Price is relative. A few years ago I tought I was doing pretty good with my 25/month at 24hr Fitness. Now I'm doing much better financially and happy to pay 60/month at my current gym.

well i think anything about $100 bucks a month is unreasonable.....

(even though i pay $165 a month for one gym and $115 a month for the other) LOL

Which brings me to a total of $280 per month for the gym....i need help!

I wouldn't go above 30/month unless the gym is REALLY good and REALLY close or you REALLY have the extra money to spend on luxury.

Probably depends where you live. Big cities will be more expensive, and whether you need all the extras, or if a bare bones place is good enough for you.

Personally, I'd rather not go over $40/month.

I just renewed mine at $207.10, which has been going up something like $30 every year.. I started at $99 5 years ago. this is a big city Bally... of course, you can invest in a good set of weights, gat a tube and a stability ball - and you can do most workouts at home - but you'd miss out on all that testosterone and naked guys in the shower! So it's well worth it =)

really, the gym provides a social atmosphere and is conducive to really working out. I tried to work out here at the fitness room downstairs (I live in a twin 30 story tower complex) but it's just not the same. unless some hottie was running on the treadmill... see where I get my motivation ;-)

There are plenty of expensive foo-foo gyms here in my neighborhood, commanding as much as $200/month, but for that I'd expect a LOT (you can probably imagine).

Bottom line: you can't put a price on good health.

If you can afford it, I recommend looking into an annual payment.

Our gym is about $90 per month per person, but we pay it annually and get a 20% discount which is a little over 2 months free.
