I grew up in NE PA and we were flooded. I was 14 and remember helping guys fill sandbags. I also remember taking a huge inner tube and floating down a flood-created stream that ran by the street on the next block...it stretched for a quarter mile. The neighbors yelled because they thought we were going to knock over the sandbags.
I remember going for a ride with my parents after it was over to Wilkes-Barre to see the damage. (I also liked to watch fires.)
That was bad but the flood of this past Sept affected my parents' house just like it did in 72.

I was living in Central Jersey and Agnes was the hurricane that started my interest that remains today. One of my favorite hobbies is tracking hurricanes every summer and fall.
