I have no idea what it is about retail stores that make people(women) lose the best of their damn minds! My whole thing is with our store usually pulling in a heavy population of soccer and stay-at-home moms I am sure their houses are not as messy as the way they leave the store! Then the bathroom, OMG why is their shit everywhere in the bathrooms, BITCH are you potty trained, do you fell that its a part of you that you don't want to let goicon_question.gif.....IDK I can't with my job, but I get paid, I just have to tell myself that many people in the world live off of two dollars a day and don't eat on a regular basisicon_neutral.gif

What are you guys jobs like?

I think you can make your job a living hell if you let it get to you .... It's a job .. just take it for what it's worth ... If you are making money, you can blow off the bullshit ... don't stress over it you'll live longer .... of course there are some places worse than others ... if it is truly a hell, then start kicking out those resumes' and looking for another job .. nobody can force anyone to stay in a place and work ... of course if the money is just to good to give up ... well, then you know why the money is good

    Retail sucks. Sorry.
I'm not sure why shopping turns women into demons. Maybe it's watching too much "reality" TV.

Working in an office isn't a whole hell of a lot better. I now have a new supervisor that is hyper and demanding at times. But I just let it in one ear and out the other. Jobs are very hard to come by these days.

+1. The awesome thing about customers is they eventually leave.

Selfish coworkers with sociopathic tendencies who can't find their own ass with both hands and a map? They either stick around forever or get bumped to management so they can't directly drive this company off a cliff.

I worked retail in college. I know what u mean. It can be extremely brutal. Everyone should work retail or food service at some point in their lives to have empathy what these workers go thru.

Yes it has already transforming into hell! unlike the first month/day at work...from being promoted and a typical old lady as your superior makes you want to fuck your brains out.... monitoring bugging you every two hours made me just thought of fying my resumes out already.

Thinking of it I could make my life so much more loving then wasting my time and experience with someone I hate working with.

I'm pretty much my own boss and decide what I want to do. So I'm not complaining.

My job is pretty good. I come and go as I please, not too much supervision. It can be very stressful a lot of the time, and I'm on call one week out of three, but I count myself lucky to be employeed. I have a small core group I work with, and we all get along pretty well. Actually, being a telecomm guy has been a terrific career.

no wayyy that sounds awful! Well I worked for a couple of different airlines through college so I can empathize - I've experienced a lot of um... bodily fluids? before... icon_neutral.gif

My job now though is amazing! It pretty much makes me giddy every day.

I've had rough times in the past. Things are good now. The right support staff can make all the difference - no way I can do it all on my own.

My job is no longer a living hell. I was laid off, so now my life is a living hell.

Unemployed? Written off is more like it.

I remember retail as doing stock work in a three piece suit.

    Agree!
When I was a student I worked retail one Christmas and I'll never forget the nightmare. If you've been through that you'll think twice before being rude to anyone in a service job.

You're only 18 and this is a typical response. Retail is a tough business, difficult hours for little pay. If you can think big picture, however, there are many opps for advancement. District managers make very nice salaries. You have to prove yourself as a sales assoc and show promise and respect for everyone, even for those who don't deserve it. If someone with power recognizes this, you'll be groomed for better positions and you'll actually be able to make a nice living.

I do have a "job is hell story", but that chapter is over now and it's summertime and I have the next 70 days off. So I'm not complaining.

    Good luck.

I make alot of money doing IT work but I have to help everyone in our company with their technical problems. I'm not complaining about the pay but some people drive me insane and waste my time on the phone when you can easily GOOGLE YOUR PROBLEMS! You have no idea how many times I googled IT problems I didnt know the answer to.
