But it is a glorious city when the (real) sun is out. And you appreciate it more when it does happen.

Actually, you don't since it starts raining within 5 minutes of when that happens. Every single time.

I live in the UK. Nuff said.

And anyway, did you know Houston, New Orleans, Mobile, Memphis, Nashville and pretty much every major city on the eastern seaboard, such as New York, Philadelphia, Miami and Boston each get more annual rainfall than Seattle? Statistically, it is really not that bad.

We've had endless clouds and rain for the past month and it's June. It IS that bad.

Another local term is "sun break." That's when the omnipresent clouds part and you realize the sky is blue. It happens occasionally from September through June. Enjoy July and August since that is the only days of clear blue skies.

To each their own; I LOVE the rain of the pacific northwest. I live down in Oregon, and it rains all the time here as well. Corvallis is close to the coastal mountain range so it gets more rain then the rest of the Willamette valley. It's not for everyone that's for sure. The rain is sustaining to me though. It makes everything so lush, green, and cool (I detest hot weather).

I wouldn't have it any other way icon_smile.gif.

The parade was pretty cool. No rain. There were a few brief moments of sun. Traffic is nuts right now. Probably gonna hang out in Belltown till things clear up. Only down side of the parade was that it was so cold, no one had their shirts off. Only a few daring ones. icon_biggrin.gif
