As someone who also just came out this year myself I can tell you from experience it really does get better from this point on. Not perfect but it is a hell of a lot better then still being in the closet.

Your story brings a tear to my eyes. This is wonderful.
BTW, I know Apple Valley a little. I had business with a community college there that I visited, and I had gay friends there, some of those pics posted here before. And sadly, I once had to go there to bury one of my deceased Army ROTC cadets.
But a place where you will likely find some gay life, not to mention the Twin Cities to the north. I'm so glad you're out now to fully enjoy that.
