Acting straight for a film

As controversial as a topic it is, I could use a few tips on "straight acting" for a film I have coming up.

The part is a big-shot contractor who's wild, probably a druggie, and an absolute womanizer. Besides the obvious gestures and voice fluctuations, can anyone spare some tips? The best I can do ends up looking like I'm still going through puberty from observation lol

No, I don't normally consider myself a "straight actor" nor do I really care for it, but this is the first time I've come upon to act like a stereotypical womanizer without being a total creep (I've done that role, though icon_wink.gif Sounded like smeagol xD)

    Thanks~

Ok, this will come off as rude, but it's kinda obvious.

If you, as an actor, have to ask upon a group of non-trained people for acting tips of any type, then maybe you're not a talented actor. An "actor" should be able to internalize the role, any role, and make it his/her own, right? This is based on observation, experience and exposure to the required role. How many straight actors played an obvious-gay character, and ddi it based on observation, experience, and exposure.

    Otherwise, I call troll.

If you were actually an actor, you would not be asking this question. You would have done this over and over in your training.

As with the RJ'ers above, I would have to say you are a troll. But not the absolute completely obvious type. 3/10

EDIT: I misread your post count. Obvious sock account...

Just put "straight acting" into the RJ search box and you will get hundreds of profiles that might be able to help you.

Well - since you have been cast, have met with the Director and already went thru the casting/call-back process and obviously WOWed the producers on-camera with your read and the chemistry you were able to muster with your female co-star...maybe all you have to do is what you ALREADY have done in order to beat out the many other faceless, empty-profile, 18 year-olds that were competing for the role.

What troll would say he "sounded like smeagol"? The phrase is too apt for your average joe shmoe troll.

You are definiteky RJ TOP 5 in the composition of troll put-downs!

I wish we had troll-slayer awards sometimes, as a counterpoint to MOTD. icon_lol.gif

A troll, or a real newbie, nonunion "actor" in a student film. Either way, sorry to be so harsh, but get a new day job. Why create an account to just ask such a question on a gay fitness site?

"Troll Slayer" - that would be Xena's brother.

But, remember, as we messaged, since I was the first to sniff out the troll on this thread, I am the current "Troll Hunter".
