Seriously, there could come a point when the public just doesnt support the US federal gov't anymore.

We all know Congress has an approval rating of like 9% and many just write it off as "bought" by big money, wherever it comes from.

Whoever is president is becoming more and more opening rejected. Bush was hardly respected by anyone in the whole world. The Republicans seem willing to scuttle the american economy to keep Obama from being reelected.

And now the Supreme Court is failing to maintain support. The 2000 decision in favor of Bush over Gore seemed politically based by many. And since then the Court seems less and less mindful of keeping itself above the perception of politics.

Supreme Court Poll: Only 44 Percent Of Americans Approve Of The Job The Court Is Doing

"The American public's faith in government continues to decline. ...

Now the people have weighed in on the justices of the high court, and the report isn't stellar. According to a new poll conducted by The New York Times and CBS News, just 44 percent of Americans approve of the job the Supreme Court is doing.

Three-quarters said the nine justices sometimes decided cases based on their personal or political views, rather than along constitutional lines....

Sixty percent of Americans also agreed with the statement that "appointing Supreme Court justices for life is a bad thing because it gives them too much power."...

Justice Scalia’s partisan discredit to the court

But his lapses of judicial temperament — bashing “a law-profession culture, that has largely signed on to the so-called homosexual agenda” in a written dissent, or offering views on this and that in sarcastic public speeches — detract from the dignity of his office. They endanger not only his jurisprudential legacy but the legitimacy of the high court.

I think the record low approval of Congress is a good gage as to just how little trust the American public has in its government.

The party of no carries about 90% of the blame for Government inaction and stalemate. A large share of the public knows that its GOP politics to hurt Obama that is holding back the US job creation and economic efforts. The Christian Fundi's carry a lot of the blame through their TBagger efforts to drive any GOP out who compromises or works with the dems. These groups are making the hole world look on with disgust at what has happened to the US.

All the above and then add that its the Christian Fundi and Far righters who are most likely to approve and vote for Romney who will likely give them and the Israeli Lobby their war with Iran. What a sad state of affairs.

The Constitution already has an Amendment for that.
