I'm currently chugging gatorade and about to switch over to coffee. What should I do next?

Prophylaxis: take 1000mg of aspirin in a tall glass of water before going to bed. You'll wake up feeling amazing... unless you're allergic to aspirin. icon_eek.gif

    Never had a hangover
But it might have to do with too much consumption

Sugar. That's what I learned in detoxing from alcoholism. Our indigent detox here in Cali serves punch. Your body needs sugar, not more alcohol.

Pedialyte is actually really good, helps with the dehydration better than Gatorade or any other drinks. Alka-Setlzer is great if you have more of a stomach hangover.

Drink a lot of water before going to bed.

Eat eggs (and/or anything very salty) in the morning.

    Shower.

Agreed lol, don't drink enough to get one...but....

I always eat stone-ground oatmeal when I am hungover. It's substantial, but not greasy/smelly/flavorful - all of which tend to make me want to throw up when I'm hungover

edit: Oh, I don't know if you have them - but I read somewhere that drinking your BCAA's for a hangover is helpful, it definitely is for me.

The reason being, the body not only becomes addicted to the sugar in alcohol, sugar is also a substance used by the body to absorb water. That is why alcohol dehydrates the body. By drinking sugared punch, your body will absorb water again. Simply drinking water (or gatorade) is not nearly as affective as sugared water. You can drink gatorade, but by adding sugar to it you can increase the water intake. Detox centers know what they are doing by serving sweetened punch all day long.

If you are going to go overboard with the hooch the best preventative measure is Gastrolyte. This stuff is meant for people with bad diarrhea, but it's great for re-hydrating post binge.

If you pass out before re-hydrating, and it is a top ten hangover, consider a coffee enema. Yes, I know it sounds extreme, and it is, but it works. Just be smart and remember to cool the coffee before squeezing it up your ass. You will feel amazing about 20 minutes after.

I forgot about salt! Salt is for the brain chemistry. Sugar and salt together are basically preventative measures for alcoholic seizures.

I don't get that bad of a hangover... mild to say the least; hence why I have had sex the morning after. icon_wink.gif

    Tequilla.

Actually, Pediolyte is and old NY NightClub remedy.

Also drink ALOT of water before going to bed - makes a huge difference.

The best thing is not get drunk to the point of hang-over. Although a lot of RJ Guys live and eat so clean - two drinks can send them over the top. I have seen it happen with a coupla body-builder Dudes...they decide to indulge and half-way thru their second Happy Hour 2-4-1 gin and tonic they are too hammered to find the Men's Room on their own.

My personal favorite (although I am rarely hung-over) is a cheeseburger.
