Texas Republicans Say Schools Shouldn't Teach "Higher Order Thinking Skills"

    In their 2012 platform, [Texas Republicans] "oppose the teaching of "higher order thinking skills" -- a curriculum which strives to encourage critical thinking -- arguing that it might challenge "student's fixed beliefs" and undermine "parental authority."

    Mind you this is the same state that wanted to take out Thomas Jefferson (Enlightenment Ideas) from our textbooks and replace him with Thomas Equinas.
