"2009 for us to say that you're got to take a responsibility to get health insurance is absolutly not a Tax Increase." Barack Obama.

He's right according to the Supreme Court it's actually more than $675 billion dollars.

Seems one once again has touched on a truth someone did not like.

but once again it seems as if there is no such thing as free health care as someone[s] is paying for it.

What gets me if someone hurts themselves in their free time, or become sick of a none employment related illness the employer is expected to pay the medical bill, how can that be just to small businesses?Oh but I must be on the yellow brick road as my life is going somewhere and I don't expect my brother to carry me.icon_wink.gif

Strange how we always have money for wars and no-bod contracts for Haliburton but never enough cash for regular Americans.

    Strange?
Shouldn't seem strange we've been doing it regularly since Reagan was in office

I certainly don't like the thought of the government in charge of my health care. I know that there are many people who don't have health care, and many people who would rather spend their money on something other than health care, but to put the government in charge, and force people to carry s policy is unbeliveable to me.

I wish this president would have changed his focus and done something about finding people jobs. Now that is REALLY lacking.

"One Day After Supreme Court Upholds Obamacare, US Stocks Surge To Year's Second-Biggest Gain"

GREAT HEADLINE! It isn't particularly relevant to whatever it is that Mr. BiPolar-DownUnder is trying to present here. But it's a GREAT HEADLINE.

DUH !! if you look carefully, the surge in the market was from insurance stocks and health care provider stocks. Meaning those rich insurance companies will get richer because everyone will have to buy insurance.

    Buddyboy938 says.

Should some entity besides "our government" be in charge of MEDICARE?

Since 1965 every US taxpayer has been 'forced to carry' this MEDICARE policy...........so unless you are a newcomer to this land of purple mountains majesty, it is surprising you find this all "unbelievable".

Government in charge of anything is not good. The cost of this will be staggering and the US simply cannot do something like this at this time.

If thats the number you have right now you can just multiply that by 10....thats usually the true cost of things when government does things

DOUBLE DUH. Look even more carefully. The Market responded to the news from the Eurozone. My irrelevant headline was a little gift to socalfitness who is fond of offering current market statistics as 'market reactions'.

But jock_1, WHY is " the surge in the market was from insurance stocks and health care provider stocks " such a bad thing in the mind of a freemarket guy?

It seems like the market surge is some indication that the Affordable Care Act and the private healthcare market can coexist SUCCESSFULLY.

I just said that because the democrats hate big insurance companies. I dont mind it at all because my medical stocks went up also. Not sure about the long term though. Not sure how Obama care will affect cancer research stock

Indeed they will, because there is no such thing as free health care, as someone is paying for it.

Bingo. Which is why a lot of rather rich Conservatives with plenty of this kind of stock may very well vote for....guess who? icon_wink.gif

Imagine all those middle class American who own a small business or two, and now have all that extra tax too deal with, and if an employee hurts himself on a skiing holiday, they have to pay for that too. How will they be able to take care of their own children, when they are now responcible for everone else's that that may employ?

Who would have paid for the injuries before? That's really the problem, right? It's always someone else who should pay, not the person, because people individually can not afford outrageous insurance, and small business can't seem to afford it, and big business seems less and less likely to want to pay for healthcare and no one likes evil big government and death panels making decisions on health benefits, so who sould pay when people get injured while skiing?

    Oh right, no one.

You called him an idiot, yet your comment "government in charge of anything is not good" is a blanket statement, which would include national defense.

If you don't want your thoughts misconstrued, do yourself and mean what you say and say what you mean.
