Even if Republicans win big in 2012, they will have to fight inch by bloody inch for changes they could have had for the asking in 2010. Truly, this is Waterloo—a Waterloo brought about by a dangerous combination of ideological frenzy, poor risk calculation, and a self-annihilating indifference to the real work of government.

While I agree that Obamacare could be the Republicans' waterloo, I feel that it's because Willard Romney will look like a fool pledging to repeal Obamacare, a health care plan that is nearly identical to the one he signed into law, as governor of Massachusetts.

The unions chose Wisconsin and the recall of Scott Walker as thier Waterloo and they lost. A truely crushing defeat.

I believe Romney will continue to hammer Obama on the economy as no president has ever been re-elected with a bad economy but as an added bonus he now has Obama care to hammer him with. As much as Obama will try to shift the focus to other topics such as imigration, Romney will hammer, hammer, hammer Obama on those 2 issues

A factor in the coming Republican fail is that the vast, vast, vast majority of Americans wont notice any change.

When the earth doesnt quake and the stars dont fall, people are not going to listen to the Republican fearmongers.

Oh, I am wrong...they will look at the Republican fearmongers...with a look of "What the hell was and is your problem?"

The wind is going to be taken right out their sails....except for the batshit crazy extremist Republicans...they will never see reality.

Prolly not. The article focuses on the logistics of repealing Obamacare IF Romney is elected. It is virtually impossible.
