It would be nice if you went into detail about why you feel this way.

Because its hard enough for gay couples in the first place, i think kids should not be in the mix of it. Especially among their peers. We all know kids can be cruel to each other.

You really live in Rome? It would probably be unusual and difficult in Italy. It is quite common and normal in the US. Closeted gays should not adopt.

It has happened, but i see first hand how kids are ridiculed and picked on because they have gay parents.

I guess it depends on where you are. Doesn't happen much (from what I hear from gay parents) in most urban areas of the US.

I can almost see your point that having gay parents MIGHT be an obvious opening to bullying. But there's a whole lot of that anyways, even for kids with straight parents...

Kids used to get picked on for having parents of different races, or fat parents, or handicapped parents. Likely they still get picked on for those reasons.

True....but in my opinion, i feel kids could be more malicious and cruel towards kids with gay parents.

I see your point, but you can't stop progress, (nor should we). Think of the hell the first black children went through during the civil rights movement. Police officers actually had to escort black students to school because of all the death threats....and this was from the adults! Do you think it was wrong of people back then to subject their children to that environment?

If you think a gay man shouldn't be a parent, does that mean you aren't involved in your child's life?

Kids will be assholes to each other no matter what. Having loving parents who will raise them with love and support is more than many kids have in this world.

Lima..your perspective is truly myopic..Lets say..I'm an underprivilaged kid..floating from foster home to foster home..exposed to everything that could make a child truly unstable..Then i get adopted by two wonderful men..The least of my problems would be getting teased at school by shallow kids..When dad # 1 picks me up in his beamer convertible at school..drives us back to our very well decorated house in a nice neighbourhood..where dad # 2 is preparing a three course meal..where i sit in front of my 60 inch flat screen with my new Playstation Move and my Nintendo Wii...The least of my problems would be getting teased at school by shallow kids..icon_biggrin.gif

Well, of course they should adopt, if they have a happy relationship, they have a decent income, and they're both 100% in favor of doing it.

If we stuck to that logic, we'd never have mixed race relationships...

I feel your opinion is antiquated and hinders our progress as equals in this straight society. I have a daughter who is being raised by her two wonderful, loving, beautiful lesbian mothers. Bullying happens no matter what, we have to teach our children to stand up for themselves and others.

Ellie is four years old now and happens to be incredibly smart, well mannered, and I have never once seen her make fun of anyone. She knows better than that, she is being raised in such a way that I wish I would have have two parents and not an abusive step father and weak mother.

    Contradictory, not ironic.
